The strange thing is people do pay those prices at grounds. When we went the JPT at Wembley the drink prices were horrendous but people were still buying them.
Yea I no, but it's pure greed. I remember someone saying they once paid 30 quid for 3 cheeseburgers at the 02 arena!
Indeed. If people are going to pay those prices, then I'm not going to blame West Ham for charging them. Although as a fan who would flatly refuse to pay those prices, I would be pulling my hair out at any of my fellow fans paying it. If no-one paid the prices, they'd soon come down to a much more reasonable level. I doubt you can even say "but at least the food is quality". It's chips...
Not saying it's right, but if you grow up in a culture or an environment where a section of society is not respected, then you're not going to respect them. If those views are normalised by peers and elders then you don't see a negative consequence to your views. Social media is great in terms of being able to challenge these views, but so often there is a baying for blood and a lynch mob mentality. Suddenly the supposed tolerant become just as intolerant
By my very quick maths, if 1/4 of the stadium buys food every home game, they'll pay the whole £2.5m rent.
