"a committee find & sign players".

That's the first I've heard of that.

"and require their Manager to play in a certain way."

True up to a point,in as much as continuity of style of play is key to the Club's progress.
Successive Managers would be chosen on their ability to fit in with the existing style, 'The Swansea Way', for want of a clearer definition, and hopefully take the team forward.
All sounds a bit arrogant - 'The Swansea Way' - but that's how it is.
From Martinez, to Sousa, then Rodgers, and Michael Laudrup. Seamless transition.
The likes of Pulis, Allardyce, and others in their mould would not get to the interview stage.
They just wouldn't suit the Club, or what they are about.
It was hoped that Monk would continue the trend, but it all began to fall apart, and the rest, as they say,.....

Which doesn't necessarily make Monk a bad Manager. He is still wet behind the ears, and Rome wasn't.....

He may yet surprise you, but not if he's sacked in the next few weeks or so.

Found this link which goes some way to explaining my confusion ... http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/how-swansea-city-go-signing-9593256

The article refers to a scouting system that is unique to the Club, and and suits it's needs.
It states that "there are no transfer committees."

can Gary Monk please ring his mate at Stoke and ask if Crouch is doing any football type stuff this season. If not can we borrow the lqnky git as we need goals he needs games and a no brainer for all

Sniffer can you stop hacking accounts please.

First of all, I claim no ITK info. Just a few perspective comments based on what I've read (some bits more likely than others).

The stories doing the rounds seem to agree that there are 3 bids, each at varying stages. 2 are of Chinese origin & fronted by our Italian friend. The third is this UK-based consortium, which has apparently completed DD. There is no mention of an exclusivity period, however it would be surprising if one was not in place - which would explain why the other 2 bids are currently unable to move forward.

And you believe this but nothing else?

No, this has been bubbling under for months. It now appears to be firming up as more details & corroboration drops into place. What point are you trying to make with this statement? You're simply stating the obvious from your own little world as far as I can see. Is it supposed to be controversial?

So you're now a spokesman for all consortiums now, are you? If they want to make money, there are countless other ways to make it. Throwing money into a money pit of a football team doesn't get very high up on the list for making money - and consortiums are well aware of this. You don't appear to be.

What a fcuking stupid point! Isn't it obvious that they put every penny they had on the first favourite at Acsot & won?

He didn't start it. He's one of the last 2 'TOMA Summary' updates that's been published. Relatively few posts make it to the summary, btw. As for GFH - who cares? Unnecessary that they do 'spill' in my world, but boy, it could be very interesting.

Is it important to you that they're friends?

Is he? Got any links? I can find zilch to support your statement.

Perhaps he's not selling?
Perhaps he's been given money by the 'consortium' to buy?
Perhaps he's bumped his head?

Are you for real?

Whatever makes you think he's firing him? Just because the Daily Jackanory makes up a story that's completely unsubstantiated & unfounded, but feeds the TTGM morons & sells papers? There is no problem to pass on. Unless you can convince us otherwise.

Would you rather he refused to buy anyone & leave us with last season's squad? Do you really think it was an alternative? Do you think it would increase the selling price? Get a grip, man!

And btw, no bid is ever 100% guaranteed to succeed, especially when Cellino is involved. It could be a long drawn out process, especially if the Chinese interest is invited to bid. (Assuming there is any bids at all, of course).

Are we to take it you disagree then Jock? :emoticon-0103-cool:
