Mbokani wants to come back to England.... THROW MONEY AT HIM!!! He would beast the Championship!

I know he would unlikely want to come back to play in lower league but surely we could spend some of McCormack's transfer fee to offer Mbokani high wages??

I think he would tear up the Championship. I would feel more confident going into matches if he was leading the line in this league.

As you say, I doubt he would even think about dropping a division.

Did he say much about his time at the club? Did he love the area or Club/staff? If he doesn't get many offers and really enjoyed his time here, there would be a tiny, tiny chance.

Although, If VitalNorwich are to be believed. He had a translator the whole time so didn't make the effort to learn the language.

And Kiev payed most or all of his wages, which was about 70-80k (apparently) Even with a big pay cut, that's a hell of a lot for the Championship.

Well he liked it enough here to want to come back to England. I believe Naismith is on around £70k and Mbokani is on £75k at Kiev..... ask if he will do a season in the Champ with big goal bonus and promotion wage rise?

I put a little edit on that, while you quoted and replied it.

Naismith isn't still on that now, surely!? They would have put in a relegation wage cut %, they usually do?

Naismith was on no-where near that in the EPL, so where that figure comes from Bedford only knows. I very much doubt we have EVER paid over £50k.

Totally agree. Can't see us paying anyone, anywhere near that kind of money. Knowing our board. They are very stringent.

Mbokani was good in our last game and against Liverpool other than that a flop.

So other than the recycled Wells, Kodija, Assombalonga rumours, anything fresh on the striker front?

We were relegated and looked toothless with him up front .
Last home game against Watford he was shop windowing.
He wasn't good enough to keep us up and if we go up then we know that already .
We should be looking for a young hungry striker looking to become a legend not a mercenary looking for a last payday.

But looked better up front with him, than any of the ones who have remained.

I agree by the way, on the young hungry player aspect. I'd still rather Britt. I just disagree he was a flop, because he was the best of what we had last season.

Dave showed flashes of class last season and also flashes of ineptitude or maybe couldn't care less.

Not entirely convinced about his hunger or desire and whereas, on form and wanting it, he'd be a definite monster, I don't think he'd be one for the rainy Tuesday nights in Rotherham/Wigan/Preston gigs.

Much rather have the young and hungry as DD says above - Britt or Nakhi for me please.

He held the ball up better than anyone iv seen since Roberts. He bullied defences. He scored a goal every other start he had and that was feeding off scraps. AN made the HUGE mistake of playing Jerome over Mbokani far too often last season. With more starts, he would have got more goals and may have kept us up!?!

To say he wasnt good enough for us is totally inaccurate. The players around him werent good enough on many occasions and he didnt play enough. When i saw him olay he looked a class above many of the others.

Great first touch and brought others into the game. This was in the EPL... in the Championship he would dominate.

    Edit:

Im not saying he is defo who i want btw... just would love him back. Brit and Nahki please!!!

I would rather have him than not but it wouldn't be exciting to resign him.
It could suit both parties as a loan again with little risk If he doesn't cut it.
Pretty sure he would rather go to Boro Hull etc than us .

Haha. You got a load of likes that he was a waste of space. You then concede he would be good compared to our strikers, and get no likes.

It pays to be negative on here!

He was a young hungry player that scored at PL level we were linked heavily with him but didn't pay what Palace valued him at, seems like ages ago now he's settled at Newcastle and scoring already.
3 games into the season we haven't moved on and signed anyone better or as good.
I can only assume Neil hopes to do a Spain and play 4-6-0 when Jerome gets burnt out .
