The matches are coming thick and fast, and this is already the 4th competitive match in only 11 days. However, I am not expecting JFH to make any major changes to the winning team and envisage:

----------------------Smithies--------------------
--Onuoha ---Caulker----Hall-----Bidwell---
------------------Henry -----Luongo----------
--Ngabakoko-------Chery-------Cousins----
------------------------Polter--------------------

Although the players do seem remarkably well prepared and fit, I am slightly concerned with potential fatigue, especially with the next match only three days later.

Let's hope that our current good form continues. COYR's!!!!

I agree Ski no changes, only perhaps Shidopo to start and Yeni to come on.......both as yet cannot last the full 90 minutes....hope Lynch is better, we need back up there.

I agree that we need some more strength in depth. I admit that I am looking forward to Ariel Borysiuk making his recovery. Should he perform, then we may have some options for the defensive midfield, plus even an opportunity option to play 4-4-2. I would be interested to see something like:

--------------------Smithies--------------------
--Onuoha ---Caulker----Hall-----Bidwell-----
--Borysiuk----Chery---Cousins---Luongo---
-------------Polter --Washington----------

In the meanwhile, I will hope that our key players stay fit and strong!

Why would you want to change the shape and tactics when we are winning?

Why would you want to change the shape and tactics when we are winning?

Only as a potential option for the future.

We know that we are short of "strikers" although currently we are scoring from all positions. I envisage that we may be chasing games in the future and a 4-4-2 option with Polter and Washington up front could be very offensive. However, to efficiently play them in that manner we need to reshuffle the midfield.

However as stated in the OP, I would not change the team for the Barnsley match.

I see that I have misspelt "Barnsley" in the thread title.
Is there an option to edit the title of the thread?

Due to tired players (only a 3 days rest). Changing tactics for a different team is usual for every club and essential. It's always nice for us to pick a team but we are not on the training ground assessing the players. Barnsley away on a Wednesday night needs tough players (with that extra skill). We should be grateful it's not winter?
Right off to the beach!

I've got a feeling Perch will be in the starting 11 tomorrow. Just a hunch.

Beth, Many thanks! I see that you have special powers.
Can you influence tomorrow's result? :)

I used to be brilliant and have really really super powers..
For a whole year, if I turned up, we lost.

I hope I have lost this ability

I would not be surprised if we wanted to rotate and rest some players on an interim basis. For example, only three day after tomorrow's match we have got the PNE home match. However, the issues are:
- should we change a winning team?
- who should be introduced?
It is a tough call, but one the JFH is paid to make. So far it is working fairly well and let's hope that it continues.

Agree, although Henry must surely be needing a break, we need Ariel fit.

I would also like to see him play, however, it may be some time before he is fully match fit. He should give us more flexibility with both the defensive midfield and even option for new formations (eg 4-4-2, etc).

Meanwhile, we need to hope that the key players stay fit and sharp.

How come we seem to have gone back to hating Perch? He had a great run of form in the second half ęof last season and became a favourite on match days. One slightly dodgy substitute appearance later and he's in the doghouse.

....because we are fickle fans?

Perch certainly played well as a makeshift left back. His performances at right back were indifferent.

Boswell has now claimed the left back position. We currently have Onuoha and Perch jostling for the right back slot. Neither are convincing..

I think the main point is that Perch can play RB, LB, LM and has also played CB I believe. I am sure we'll see him quite regularly and I don't think it's impossible for Bidwell to lose his place to Perch at some point. Onuoha won't lose his place, of course. Although, if Onuoha is needed at CB at any point Perch will surely go on RB duty. We'll see him plenty!

I was joking really. He's an ok squad player but no better than that and I'd guess he's on a good wedge. Don't see what he offers that Furlong doesn't apart from versatility.
