Just through the grapevine. I wouldn't put my mortgage on it, but he's the right kind of player.

    Adel Taarabt.

Can you imagine how Nige would deal with him?

You could tell Tarabt had quality but he was pathetic. Suppose thats the price you pay, he'll be stropy and moan but will bag you a lot of goals and assists. I dont think him and Nige would get on really haha

Only a few footballers are good enough to have an attitude like that. Yes he is good, but he doesn't deserve to be as arrogant as somebody like Cantona or Ronaldo. I hope he continues to have hissy fits as he will become the laughing stock of the league.

Greenings a good player but isn't he more of an attack minded midfielder and he's getting on a bit now, can't see him fitting in with Pearson's policy of young, hungry players

Bradley Johnson from Leeds - out of contract at the end of the season, and it would stir things up a bit before Tuesday's game. He can play in central midfield, on the left side of midfiled and at left-back. There are three problematic areas solved all at once. Thoughts?

Johnson isn't rated by Leeds fans I don't think, there were rumours about him earlier in the season and they wanted him to go. Seems a realistic target, scored a cracker against Arsenal couple of weeks back

Leeds fans only don't like him because he has turned down several new contract offers. I think he's a great player and would be a decent asset

Probably... if it is him we're in for, the board might get a shock when they hear his wage demands.

Unless someone has heard differently since his wage demands were apparently only for parity with other players that feature the same as he does and Bates wouldn't offer it. Now if I'm being offered £10k/w when everybody else doing my job is being offered £15k/w I'd be inclined to go elsewhere were everybody was getting £7k. I know I'd be earning less but it's the principal of it, and lets be honest, whatever he earns as a Championship footballer is going to be more than liveable.

He could regret it if they go up though, because I'm sure they'll be quite happy to not have his new contract as an obligation when they're looking to strengthen the squad.

We seem to be getting a lot of Man U youth lads so maybe it will be another one of them coming in.

We've all tried guessing before and got nowhere near. Defensive cover is the clear priority for me

Jon Greening - at 32 he's only a bit younger than Ashbee. Can't see it.

Jay Spearing - LFC won't like it, he might get injured..

Bradley Johnson - the most likely but you don't see a lot of business between City & Leeds..

Michael Brown - a bit thuggish not a technical player can't see NP going for him & he's also 34. No

Richard Hughes - don't know him TBH

Charlie Adam - yeah. like we have £10m to spend :)

How about a sneaky bid to Slumberland for Andy Reid? quality in this league..

Well we certainly don't need to worry about wage demands being too high if they're the competition.

Would love to see Jon Greening in a city shirt but i agree, he doesn't fit the mould of our previous signings with his age.
I can't see us having another youngster from the prem, if we want a permanent it'd be unlikely any prem teams will want to sell their youngsters. I hope we don't sign Johnson, apparently he has about 3 or 4 of them shots a game and only connects with them like against Arsenal every few months. I'll trust Walshy to pick the right person but i can't see it being anyone attack-minded, not to replace Ash.

I wish people would stop begging for Koren to be played in the middle, truth be told i'd like to see him there too but clearly Nige is never going to do it, he wants the middle of the pitch to be solid and the threat to come from wide combined with Fryatt's ability to create chances on his own. It's worked well enough though admittedly it isn't the nicest to watch if it doesn't click.
