Who were? He's a successful businessman for a reason and he submitted bids that he thought would be of good enough standard. I'm pretty sure everyone even Whyte himself knew DU were looking for £2m but Rangers were trying to get him for cheaper, possibly relying on the fact that the player would want to push the deal through himself. I think most Rangers fans wanted him to spend £2m, some didn't. Again I think Whyte would know a little bit more than you about conducting 7 figure business deals than yourself. Like I said, he was most likely trying to force through a deal and get the player cheaper than what DU wanted for him. Thats the whole part of the transfer market, you negoitiate.
Excellent Medro. I remember a few years ago when Rangers fans were blahhing about the business acumen of Minty. He was the dog's danglies when it came to running a football club. But only when he was able to throw money at it - that he didn't have - and only when he was diddling the tax man. All those chickens have come home to roost. Whyte hasn't shown any football business acumen, having failed after seven attempts to secure Rangers' number one transfer target. So I have no idea where your confidence in his ability lies.
