Elsewhere, Get West London have namechecked Liverpool as an admirer of Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon.
The left back shone in Fulham's EFL Cup victory and the local paper down there believe the Reds and Arsenal have shown interest.

So Klopp says no rotation, he wants a straight up competition among players to get into the first 11.

Good stuff..now go buy a LB and DM so the competition is real lol...

I agree.

get on with it lfc but get the right guy not just anyone.

If we go with no-one its cos the guys wanted went to dortmund this summer i think.

LB is an issue but cover and injuries are my main concern. you can carry a player like moreno i suppose but the derth in quality at CM is a concern. have bodies but no quality and if we sell benteke i'd LIKE use to spend as uch as possible on real quality there

i think we've lots of bodies but i don't think any are really top 4 quality and i'd struggle to put an LFC player into a prem 22 mand team

as of now:

GK; Ge Gea, courtois, lloris
RB: bellarin. Coleman. walker
LB: take your pick all 19 over moreno
CB: Kompany, smalling, alderweirld, van dork (you know the guy i mean)
CM gundogan will be, Pogba will be, kante, matic. fabregas should have been
attacking midfield Ozil, mahrez, de bruyne, mkhitaryan, sanchez, silva
Strikers kane, aguero, ibrahhimovic.

Mane is prob right now our best looking player. to challenge for a spot if he performs.
Clyne might be up there but coleman is quite good.
CB: unless matip is a god we are well shy
CM's sorry but none are up to those
GK is nowhere close.

we've some potential like... don't get me wrong but we lack the top top player to lead us IMO. We are looking to can mane and origi to step up big time for us.. im not loking to coutinho any more. i just don't think he's got a break out amazing year in him... just loko for the occasional magic and a lot of subbings.

we really need klopp to deliver his team of more than the sum of its parts... hope he does

Dahoud would have been the ideal partner for Can.

We're now linked with Paredes who is in the Alonso mould. Badly need a playmaker from deep.

I keep saying this - but tbh, you're one of the worst culprits for doing this individual analysis thing.
A team is always more than the sum of its individuals. Whether or not our team is better than other teams remains to be seen, but comparing individual positions in teams will only ever give you a rough guide and is really no more than something to do on a slow day.

Yeah..I agree, we don't match up player to player but I think we all knew we wouldn't. It's clearly an aim that we be fitter and faster across the pitch as a unit than other teams.

Yep..it's only year one so I can settle for gaps if we truly can't get our hands on the right players this window rather than just bringing in mediocrity as the replacement to mediocrity...something we've been guilty of far too often and we spend half a window trying to get rid of it...

When we lost the Europa League final, there was absolutely nothing worthwhile about it, just a load of disappointment. In the end the only positive thing about not playing European football this year is that we have more time to train and that is what we have to use, 100 per cent.
That’s why we need to create a very strong team in the best understanding of the word ‘team’. We need to have competition.
We need a situation where the players push themselves and each one pushes the other for each position and wants to be in the team because you have time to recover.
So it’s not that you have to change the team a lot between two Saturday games or two Sunday games - it’s nothing about rotation. It’s about: ‘OK, who is ready now? Who is ready to perform how we need in each specific game?’

We need a lot of things. Players working together as a team, players who work hard, players who have quality on the ball, players who don't bottle it when things go tough.

yes.. all of that... koala tea as rafa would say.

YOu want a mascherano alonso gerrard midfield with hyppia and carragher at the back, reina in goal and suarez up front. then as per the ****ing issue is width.

Losing is never good like....

There is nothing positive about not playing in europe. this type of thinking is just holding clubs back. thats my view.

The europa is about building your suqad up to be ready for CL and frankly your coefficient too. We need a high coefficient to get a decent CL draw to get through group.

In the end city took what 3/4 years to ge tout of group in CL. it took arsneal similar in the late 1990s/2000s.
