I'd very much agree stick but have you spotted the early money for Carroll's one, definitely worth monitoring as you know well that yard are pretty shrewd with their cash. Best of luck non the less.
Looking at 2 today. Gilmer, Chepstow 3.45; good course form and all 4 wins under this jockey ( 3 of them at Chepstow ) Midlight, Thirsk 3.00 I haven't got a wheelbarrow, so I can't follow Stick's top tip! Good Luck.
Not one to get carried away with but the 2.30 maiden at Thirsk should throw up a decent animal with two Kevin Ryan entrants with lofty entries (sales and listed). However, with the full 3 places on offer, I am playing now each way in the race on Richard Fahey second string Volta Du Mar 33/1. It took most of the race for the penny to drop on debut but she stayed on nicely in the final furlong and although a significant step forward is required, I'm prepared to take that chance. It only takes one or two of these newcomers to run green and a step forward from Faheys. At the prices it looked worth a speculative roll of the dice.
Thanks, shame as I'm popping along on Thursday. Will probably get to see a Foxtrot runner though. Are we all well and well fed?
Happy retirement Paul Carberry. Of all the talented jockeys I've had the privilege of watching in terms of being a natural horseman, Carberry, in my view sits right at the top of the pile. A complete genius in the saddle, was such a joy to watch him
His ride on Bellvano to win the Grand Annual is the finest ride I have ever seen. He also gave Monbeg Dude a peach to win the Welsh National. Happy retirement Paul
A special talent Oddy. I mean how can any man not be a legend for missing a ride on the grounds he was injured as he'd been 'headbutted by a stag'! This wouldn't even have been a piss take From all accounts he was a right mad man out hunting, no fence or ditch too fearsome.
