Either one would do me just fine. Plus an overseas player, as you say or a long term loanee?

True, N'Doye (or someone of a similar ilk) may well still be in the frame.

Both would be perfect as Laffers is limely to leave. Those two, Jerome and Naismith would make a great strike force at this level.

Id have a punt on Chrissy Martin tbh

Watched it Jarrold and on that performance I can't understand why we were interested. He's not at all suited to a sole striker role and plays much more like a second striker/AM and contributed very little all game, though he did get through late on only to be overtaken by the CB's as he has no pace at all.

Neither side impressed but Villa gifted the ball to Forestieri late on to run through and score. SW 1-0 Villa.

West Ham closing in on the signing of a LB from Olympiakos. Arthur Masuaku.

Nahki Wells rumors to Norwich hots up. If he was our only striker signing. I'm not sure how I feel about that one.

He's got a decent record in the Championship, he's a good age, he works hard, and at least it would be a Striker signing. Could be a decent bit of business.

On the other hand, I don't know if he would be eventually a Premiership standard player if we went up, and his record is very respectable, but not a stand out player probably.

He could be used to the same effect as Calum Wilson last time for Bournemouth. That kind of player, (but not as good). Or Jackson for us in the promotion campaign a few years ago.

That's the concern but the rumours seem to have died down a bit. The little i've seen of Toffolo, he's looked great, so part of me is quite keen to see him given a go but I fear if Olsson goes we may see Brady slotted back there (assuming he stays). Much prefer Brady forward.

I saw Toffolo at the Rotherham game last season and whilst there is certainly potential there. I think he is too raw currently. He was trying a bit too much at times and got caught out of position a couple of times (Had Rotherham have offered more I think he could have left us exposed.) I really wouldn't be comfortable with him being our starting LB, If we could send him out on loan I would be happier, A season in Lge1 or even another Champ side would give him the chance to prove himself but not at the cost of our promotion ambitions.
I too prefer Brady forward, but he isn't gonna hang about either. I suspect he would be even more unlikely to stay if it was to be our LB. If Olsson is to go, hopefully we have someone in mind to replace him, is Leeds LB any good?

    Bah!

You jest, but Charlie Taylor is currently trying to force a move out of Leeds, handing in a transfer request last week. He was their player of the year last year, and apparently Liverpool are interested.

The BBC had West Ham close to signing Masuaku this morning, whereas the Essex Chronicle speculation about Olsson was two days ago. Fingers crossed on that one. As for Nahki Wells, I'm not sure how he'd fit into our style of play. Is he able to play the lone striker role? N'Doye would be better suited to that IMO, at a loan fee rather than an expensive signing so we could sign another striker as well.

He's a very good player. Loves to get forward like Sam Byram was on the other side. If no big teams follow through interest in him, and we lose Olsson or Brady or both, and if Toffolo isn't ready to be first choice LB for every game. He's someone I'd love to see us go for. Only a matter of time before he's in the Prem, and Leeds to love to give us their best players! :emoticon-0105-wink:

Wells scores goals though. I'd rather that.

He is a very quick player. Seems to have good instincts. I think he could play on his own upfront. We don't have a goalscorer with flat out pace in a striker position either. Great for counter play when we were under pressure.

I would still prefer Brit, or both! Nahki is the best option after Brit at the moment for me.

Hopefully the feel good factor of the first win and some more besides before the window slams shut will keep him happy and maybe even have him signing up for some more.

    Bah!
