Totally disagree Hes been pulled up on his lack of effort a few times if you think we need a few of them in a team thats going to be battling relegation your crackers Its why alot dont go on to be top players they think theyve made it at a young age We cant be carrying players this season at all
A post from red cafe about his attitude "The report today that Adnan is petulant about not changing with the squad whilst Schweinsteiger is behaving like the model professional and not whingeing about it tells us a lot about his attitude if true. I do wonder if he stood out so much under Moyes because the rest of the squad were so awful."
To be honest he is better than any winger we have so if available on loan we should snap him up, same applies to Balotelli as a striker. Moyes will have got him already no doubt.
Diame and Hernandez vanished at times last season and we still went up, the lack of effort thing/carrying players is a misnomer
Don't agree, it was Bruce's tactics and team formations that ****ed us over last season at times, especially against the "lower end" of the league teams.
Agreed Bruce's tactics hindered us at times, 3 home matches in a row spring to mind - but we were playing with 10, sometimes 9 players at times during those games. Surely having a fully committed 11 on the pitch would have given us more of a chance ?
I'm sure Bruce didn't say " Mo, go out there and stroll around like you couldn't give a **** for 90 minutes".
It's why he was playing for us and not PSG or someone- if he could play at his best more consistently he would be a Champions League player. As it was, he was good enough, often enough, to still make him our most effective creative and forward thinking player
Rarely. When he was good he was very good - but it wasn't enough, and he was a waste of a shirt for half the season.
I don't understand why people question a players commitment. I'd guess 99% of players want to be the best they can be. Ergo, when on the pitch, given their chance to shine they wouldn't deliberately piss on this opportunity simply because they can't be arsed. Player fails to track back... Perhaps they're waiting to spring a long range counter attack so we don't end up completely under the kosh. Player doesn't make a run into the box... Perhaps a misreading of where the teammate was going to play the ball. Player is lazy in closing down opposition up the pitch... Perhaps they don't want to waste their energy trying to win a ball when they're inevitably going to be passed around, saving their energy for the next attack when they'll need it more. I honestly think 'lazy' players are branded incorrectly with this label. Though if you are going to play 'lazy' then you need to be clinical when your time comes. Just one example being Berbatov. Januzaj might not be the best for the dressing room if it were to happen (which it won't) but I wouldn't doubt for a minute he'd give his all on the pitch... purely because he wants to succeed. This doesn't necessarily mean that he'd sprint for 90 minutes flat chasing the ball wherever it is on the pitch.
At National Ave I'd agree... at the top level though, unless there's a player with a real psychological issue I just can't see it. The only two that spring to my mind that go against what I've said would be Balotelli on occasion because he's a nutter and in our case Ben Arfa... who frankly, clearly wanted **** all to do with us and whose head is more screwed than Louis Walsh's rear end.
I don't believe there's ever been a football manager that hasn't questioned a particular player's commitment at some stage. I guess it just depends on what that particular manager is willing to accept.
Should have dropped them then just like he did in the prem when we should never have been relegated, oh hang on a minute he didn't did he? He persisted with the same line up week in, week out.
We had one of the well known club employees in our place today, I won't name him incase it gets back to the Allam's, we know what spiteful ****ers they are, and he said that Phelan will be officially named as manager on Monday. That should cheer those up who have money on him.
