May I have your attention please: Spurs are going 442 for the second time in this match ...and then this happened...
Harrison nets, I've said for a couple months now that I'd like to see him as third choice behind Kane and Janssen, very talented lad.
For a second I thought we'd decided to really take the piss and play Luke McGee as an outfield player...
Pochettino has called the pre-season spot-on. Euro 2016 participants rested and now ready to go. Academy kids have generally fronted up well against UEFA pedigree opponents. Janssen just needed the typical PL starting XI playing with him.
Great way to end pre-season with so many players coming back. First half was a real contest with a great tempo and physicality to it, and it was good to see the players step up to that and go in winning at half time. Then we steamrollered them in the second half, dealt with personnel changes far better than Inter and gave the players and especially the youngsters a chance to really show what they can do, which they duly did. Special mention to Lamela for capping off an excellent pre-season. Great to get a proper look at Janssen, he looks a real unit which I wasn't expecting, links play well like Kane but more of a physical focal point than the Englishman. I think he'll fit in well up on his own or playing alongside Kane, who can do that role but prefers to go looking for space. Also fantastic to see so many of the youngsters come on and give good accounts of themselves, especially Winks who I thought did well in the second half, albeit against a deflated Inter. Bring on Everton!
I'm genuinely curious to find out if there was some kind of beef between Lamela and Inter. I know he's a competitive sort, as demonstrated by some of the training videos on our Youtube channel, but he seemed to be on a mission to humiliate Inter all afternoon - and bloody hell did he do that.
The last time we ended a pretty season this well was when we battered Roma 5 nil in August 2008...and we all know what happened next WE'RE DOOMED I TELL YOU...DOOMED
5 mins highlights: http://eachgoal.com/tottenham-vs-inter-6-1-highlights/ Shout if you want the full game and I'll find it later Very enjoyable game. I can't wait to see Jannsen in the EPL
Great end to pre-season, the Juve and Atleti games had decent moments but we lacked the killer instincts in those, though we made up for it today. I know Inter aren't as good as they used to be but we absolutely butchered and a bullied a huge club today. Lamela was again superb, I really hope he carries this pre-season form into the new season because he's looking incredible, capped it all off with an excellent strike. Janssen began to show why we just forked out £17m on him, pre-season is of course nothing to truly go by but the signs are good, not afraid of a battle and seemingly plays well on his own up top or part of a two, really good at one-touch link play. Winks also had a very good pre-season, if I were Poch I'd be saying to Mason that this kid is on the brink of taking your spot in the squad. Great seeing the Euro lads back, Kane was lethal, Alli was class, Dier was just... Dier, Hugo had **** all to do and Walker, Rose and Davies all got a good 45 minutes. Congrats to Harrison on his goal, even though it wasn't in a competitive match it's always special for a young player to score their first senior goal, especially against famous opposition and one of the best keepers in Europe. Big week of preparation ahead, bring on Everton! COYS!.
Another thing I liked seeing, when Shay scored his goal, aside from Lamela being right there due to the assist, the first people to celebrate with him were Winks and CCV, reminded me of when Kane, Mason and Bentaleb were breaking into the side, Harry would score and the other two often being the first to congratulate him.
