A few weeks ago, my laptop installed windows 10 against my wishes but within a few hours and installing Google Chrome as my default browser, I was reasonably happy with it.
Just one problem, from day 1 my printer would not work. It had worked the day before on windows 7, but even using the installation disc that came with the printer, it would not work
I used a trouble-shooter programme provided by HP, but still no joy. I checked my "printers and devices" and it showed my printer as installed but off-line!
Yesterday, I had a brainstorm and unplugged my mouse and moved the printer usb to the port and bugger me, my printer sprang into life! Problem solved, the original port was obviously damaged somehow.
I plugged my mouse into the port where the non-working printer had been...and the bloody thing worked
Any of you techies any idea how, what or why?
