Vadis has gone I think, Mulumbu just tweeted adios in any case and Brady will go. Can't see anyone else coming in before the weekend other than possibly Pritchard, mind you we cocked up the McCormack deal when by all accounts all we had to do was dot the I's and cross the t's so don't hold your breath mate;)

All I ask is for professionalism, mind you I would take odds of 50/50 because if that gamble paid off .........
If it doesn't - Portsmouth, Fulham, Cardiff.

I like the fact our club is normal. We don't keep breaking fair play, we haven't got foreign investment which is like entering a cheat code on a game. Our lack of spending on blatantly obvious targets we should have gone for, for the past 6-8 transfer windows is infuriating, but with all that in mind, we are very close to being a Premiership team. We are very close.

We just don't learn from mistakes or improve when we have the means. I think if we did that without being bought out by foreign investors, I would feel more proud as a supporter.

Stop nicking my material!

. If we replace Olsson and Brady, buy Pritchard and buy 2 new strikers and a CB how are the Murphys, Toffolo, Maddison, Godfrey etc going to get a chance?

Well none of our youngsters (except Maddison when he was at Coventry) have exactly set the world on fire when they've been at lower level clubs, so why would you think they are suddenly going to form a key role in a championship promotion chasing team. None of the our youngsters (except Morris who is not at present a league one promotion quality striker) are strikers, so how would recruiting more strikers limit their involvement. Are we really going to challenge for promotion in this league with just one stiker (Jerome) who is proven at this level & what are we going to do if he gets injured. I would have also thought that if we had a better quality less accident prone CB to play alongside Klose to form a reliable solid quality CB pairng I would be more inclined to try some of the youngsters around them. If Klose gets injured do you really think Bennett, Martin, Turner & Bassong are going to be able to form a solid CB pairing to support and give confidence to any youngsters we may want to bring in. So for me I'm happy with our better quality senior players and our youngsters it's some of the inbetweenies I'd like to upgrade i.e. Whittaker, Martin, Turner, Bassong, Mulumbu etc

We are short of 2 strikers and a CB we have sufficient strngth in midfield. I see a really strong CB pairing as something to build a team around.

We were fortunate to get promoted last time we were in the Championship and it will be much harder this time.

Excellent post 1950!!! <applause>
My take on it is that AN may not 'risk' playing the 'few very promising youngsters' you mention in case we suffer heavy defeats - I would say we're more likely to suffer heavy defeats by persisting with the useless Whittaker, Martin (when he's fit) etc. Let's see some of those youngsters in the starting 11 and being given a chance to show what they're capable of!!! <ok>

Trouble is our so called promising youngsters have not shown through previous performances that they are currently at the level required to form a key role in a Championship promotion chasing team and I might be wrong but I don't think any of them would play in the same positions as Whittaker & Martin. The truth is with the exception of Toffolo they all play in positions (Midfield) where we already have an abundance of good quality senior players. I don't think anyone is suggesting strengthening our midfield is a priority. Striker is the area where we have very little quality in depth and CB is an area we need to upgrade, but clear AN isn't going to do this. We should have got rid of Turner and replaced him with another CB better then what we have (Excluding Klose).

Why the hell is everyone going on about missing out on McCormack? IMHO we've dodged a fecking great bullet there! I'm glad he's gone to Villa, that will destroy any chance they had of making the playoffs!
He was our number 1 target Dave!!!! Are you going against Norwich here!?!? :emoticon-0104-surpr
