I think Villa will struggle under their delusions of grandeur. Although i believe Buddha is a good manager i think the fans will expect auto's which i doubt they will get.
Same old with us. If you don't have a striker you won't get anywhere. We basically have Polter and Washington, and sadly they ain't gonna get you 35 goals.

I'd be happy with anything between 8th and 13th.

Anything better is a bonus. If we can continue to build a team and have some stability, that would be great.
Just pray that Fernandes or Hoos don't have ambitions of expecting promotion.

Hoos isn't that stupid. Fernandes...

Upper mid for me - we don't have strength in depth throughout the squad, except for keepers, so any injuries and suspensions will take their toll. On our day, hopefully we can smash a few teams, but I feel it's going to be a very workmanlike effort this season, with very little sparkle (unless we land some diamonds before deadline day....)

I went for upper mid. I've been trying to think of reasons we wouldn't improve on last season.

The only negative for is losing Faurlin but I've been looking forward to seeing what JFH can do with a pre-season especially since he has always said that he wants greater intensity on our play. I like the signings - nobody stellar but they look like they'll fit in well and improve the team. Plenty to come from last season's acquisitions too and there seems to be a little bit of faith emerging in the youth players.

I can only see us improving compared to the last campaign but I can't say with any conviction how much that will be. I am typically optimistic at this stage though.

Would like the play off's but reckon 7th/11th improvement from last season, but not ready to go up yet. One ore season in championship will do us.

Just can't see enough goals in our team yet, expect to see a lot of 1-0's and 1-1's. 11th for me this campaign, but it could change with a couple of astute signings !

Something like 9th-11th...... Which wouldn't be exciting (again) but not the end of the world either.

(Having said that, like several posters above, new season and optimism has me dreaming of at least the play-offs......will see how soon that thought evaporates to be replaced by what I voted for.......or worse)

10th this season, expect one or two teams to run away with it, bun fight with the also-rans for the play-off places but we will either drift off towards the end of the season from a previously promising position and end up dissatisfied or will come back at the end of the season following a poor start and be left wondering "what if?" Out of all cup competitions in the first round.

Next season - top six.

This punditry lark is a doddle!

Some strong squads in this division. Stronger on paper than ours.

I can see Newcastle, Norwich, Sheff Wed, Derby and Brighton all in the mix.

Villa and Wolves could go either way after recent investments finanically

Birmingham and ourselves have a bit of divisional know-how and will be difficult to beat

I like how Bristol City have recruited and they have a good manager in Lee Johnson.

I went for Upper Mid Table in the vote, as I believe we require 2 more signings to be taken seriously.

I am afraid we could easily be in the relegation mix if we don't strengthen the squad considerably with some players with good experience at least Championship level. We need a good striker, a wide man and probably a RB. Need to strengen and use money to have a shout at a promotion spot. Next year the parachute will be less, we cannot afford to wait yet another season.

Without additional strengthening I can't see us getting beyond mid-table & in fact gone for lower mid, although I think a half decent striker + a wing-man would make a lot of difference.

About the same as last year, I'm afraid. Need at least 2 strikers who are absolute poachers, and the defense is a bit lacking.
And obviously Henry will have a blinder of a season so I'm not worried about the middle :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I've just revised my prediction up to play offs, for no logical reason at all. But if you don't start the season with some hope, what's the point?

If JFH actually has got the squad properly fit, and gets us playing the way he says he wants us to - high energy, high pressing, if the fans don't get on the players backs at the first mistake, if Mackie doesn't get a kick, who knows?

After a barnstorming start of the season that sees us comfortably in the play off conversation, we'll start playing the usual Rangers way in late February or early March, and finish a frustrating 7th...
