it looks like pakistan have a right armer in so thats balanced out their attack and given more options but also they have tried to unsettle root and cook with tactics for each and its worked.

Vince was due an average score and 39 is barely that. he is now done and its ballance and bairstow. 300 will be lucky form us i reckon.

this is going to be a 50/50 game and will require a big bowling effort.

300.. put that on the board and Pakistan (we.. when were not playing England..) will struggle, our batting is about as good as Moreno's defending!

I think 300 looks to be down to woake and bairstow and bairstow was piss poor v spin last game. needs to play a straight bat or he'll be out quick.

Ballance had a great record before he went away a bit. He seems
to be moving his feet a bit more now and not getting trapped and wofting his bat out there.

JB tries to cut one too close to body and edges behind. Not looking good at the moment.

Will remember to rub it in when we thrash you then :bandit:

Love a late cut.... Sometimes a bit too late though.

We'll get beat, quite possibly a thrashing, maybe close if the batsmen sort their **** out!

Me too, was never too strong off the legs, loved it on the off, my greatest strength was always my greatest weakness.. go figure!

England looking like a bit of luck will be needed to get to 250 now.

sohail has not been coped with at all. bringing him back in has paid of in spades for pakistan.

England can wag the tail but if moeen doesn't get a 50 stand now i can see a very bad day here

What do you make of the whole Amir thing from that side of the fence?

The guy was a kid when he came over, 18.. never been out of the country, bright lights, bit of fame, etc...
If he was coming through at the time of Imran or Wasim, even Misbah now, he'd have been OK..
What didn't help was that his skipper at the time and the teams lead bowler were crocked ****s!
They pressured the dopey lad, that's all he was, a bit wet behind the ears into doing what he did, he came from a poor background and I guess the chance to make a quick buck was also a factor..
I read somewhere that he still sends most of his money back to his parents..
In short, a good kid, a quality bowler that was misled by some of the worst players ever to represent Pakistan, and believe me, we've had some real stinkers!
Everyone deserves a second chance, sure he'll keep his nose clean.. He better!

Agred. Think length of ban was fair and 2nd chance given circumstances is fine. Just a shame talented kid has lost 4 years where he could be on his way to being a real great already if he had stayed out of trouble.

Remember when first saw him as 17 year old tearing up WC I think it was... Crazy good.

Aye, he's lost a bit of pace, was close to 90s when he got banned, now bearly over 85..
Also, would swing it a lot more.. lost a bit of his craft? Hope he gets it back, and at 24, he's still got a fair bit of cricket left in him..

Ballance nearly at 50...
Ali looks set, these two could help right the ship...

Hope not ;)

I'd say the lad needs at least a year of consistent bowling to get that pace back but the swing is deffo craft as you said. that shaping of the ball needs practice.

Ballance creeping to 50 is good for him. is minimum expected or needed. ali just needs to stand there for the day now. 184/5. 300 is deffo par but lord only knows what happens once one wikcet goes.

broad looks bang out of touch and still timid and scared of the ball... which is ironic given how he'll hit someone with it.

woakes is the only real batting left after these two.

baristow need to stop playing with horizontal bat. this is not one day.
