Fulham can piss off if they're really asking £15M, they'll barely get half that next window when he's the other side of 30. I just hope AN has other irons in the fire though because if this deal goes tits up and we haven't we're ****ed

No way is he worth £15m anything over £8?for a guy who has never played in the PL is a stupid amount to pay
Hope we have better options somewhere else as doubt we will do such a crazy deal

If not, starting the season in just six (6) days time with just Jerome and Lafferty - assuming the latter is still here, would be the most idiotic thing the club have done.......since appointing Mark Fotheringham as team captain <yikes> <doh>

Or not sacking Worthington sooner, or appointing Roeder as manager, or appointing Hamilton as manager, or appointing Doncaster CEO, or appointing Gunn as manager, or spending £8.5M a piece on RvW and Naismith, or bringing Mulumbu to the club, or ...........................

If he gets us the goals we need for promotion £15m would be a very good investment.

Said ages ago that I'd love Prichard when he was linked to us. Was told we had too many midfielders. I said he would be an upgrade on a lot of them anyway. Now O'Neil and Redmond have gone. Mulumbu and Vladis are heading out. We are very unlikely to hang on to Brady in this window, I'd be very surprised if no one is sniffing around Howson. We better hope we don't get any injuries.

Better start bidding for Midfielders soon me thinks.

Back to the striker dearth, for a mo.
This wondrous article has 'identified' a range of targets should our dealings with Fulham hit a wall.
Nahki Wells, anybody? :emoticon-0112-wonde
[rather laborious slideshow but I can't do much about that - I dislike them, gimme just a plain old list of names and reasons why <ok>
http://readnorwich.com/2016/08/01/strikers-norwich-could-turn-to-if-they-miss-out-on-mccormack/?
They really wind me up! Take ages to load, then the page drops down to load adds across the top so the "next" button moves down after you have just clicked the area. End up clicking the Adds. Takes about 5 minutes to read 5 names.

Nahki is a very good striker, I do like him, and think he's a very decent Championship player. I wouldn't want him, because I don't think he would ever be a Premiership regular for anyone other than a club going up for 1 season in the sun. I don't think he has the potential to get a lot better than his current level. We already have players like that here, and that's why we keep falling short of being a stable Premiership club.

According to AN there has been no contact about Mulumbu, but Odjidja-Ofoe does look like he may be going. The leaves us with a CM of Howson, Tettey, Dorrans, Mulumbu, Thompson, Godfrey and McGrandles if Vadis does leave. No need to panic yet. As for strikers, AN is still confident of bringing in McCormack as well as a few other players currently in the pipeline. IMO Brady is a good player, but one not nearly as essential as a goal-scoring striker and £15m for Brady would go a long way towards other new additions.

I can see the Thompson to Charlton loan rumor going through. Or another League 1 side. Can't see him playing regularly. Dorrans I think is pretty average, sounds and looks like he did well against Hannover, but I'm not convinced. I don't think Godfrey or McGrandles would play much either. Maybe Godfrey on the bench a few times, he's earned that. I think McGrandles would probably go on loan to Hamilton or something if he's back from his injury.

Yea, the Money for Brady would be good, and it's going to be near impossible to keep him anyway. I just think it would be a shame to let a player of his talent and versatility go when we have the parachute money and the freed up wages from all the other big earners leaving. I'd like to see us do what we are doing with Klose, and tell him to give us til at least January. We can afford to bring in players, we have left most Transfer windows not spending much, while bringing in Premiership money and Parachute money. I'd rather see us use our financial advantage now, than have to panic and go big in January.

I give you:
Robert Fleck, Mike Walker and Jamie Cureton. Nuff said ;)

I agree, Cromer. You could have added Graham Paddon as well. Players returning for a second stint seldom works.

As for McCormack, AN had this to say:

“I think we are at a stage where we are not getting rejected out of hand so there is movement on both sides but it is how much we are prepared to give and how much they are,” he is quoted as saying by the Eastern Daily Press. "We are already spending considerable money to get it done and I don’t think there is any need to spend any more. I would like to get all our business in before Blackburn. We should have at least one by the end of the week.”

Off piste for a minute but can anyone recommend a really good therapist for the lad? <yikes>

New signing Grant Ward says he opted to join Town ahead of interest from other Championship clubs. The 21-year-old signed a three-year deal with an option for a further season earlier this afternoon, the Blues and Tottenham having agreed a fee understood to be in the region of £500,000. - See more at: http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/29948/#sthash.LArwnffr.dpuf

I suppose when mid-table second tier is your sum career aspiration.......<whistle>
