Wish I had looked at your post this morning UC. Hillbilly Boy was screaming at me last night until I read the ATR comment, you might have persuaded me to get back on. Top tipping.

Just watched the 15 minute long You Tube video of the Prix Rothschild at Deauville today by Equidia.fr and saw a lot more than just the race.

Amazing Maria looked very keen going to post and she was probably too keen in the race itself, right up behind the pacemaker, whose jockey spent most of the first two furlongs looking behind him and then had to start riding his mount before half way.

Once the pacemaker folded, that left Lumiere and Amazing Maria in front, but Mark Johnston’s grey quickly gave up and dropped out tamely – perhaps she just does not like the ground.

When the eventual first two challenged, Amazing Maria looked to just be running on the spot as Qemah quickened up and readily put the race to bed. Alice Springs never looked to be in the race at all, so a thoroughly wasted journey for all the foreign raiders.

Qemah is starting to look like quite a decent filly, so I wonder whether she and La Cressonniere (different owners, same trainer) could meet at Deauville in a fortnight.
