I suppose this is one of those situations Al was on about...
Just chilling on a Sunday morning. Some top quality banter on here..Keep up the good work... At the end of the day its bound to go to the un-defeated champion of the pre season knock-abouts. Micky Phelan. Knows the boys. They know him...Keep the backroom staff in place and its carry-on number one...
We've come quite a way that we're sneering at a bloke who was the first team coach of the best team in England havent we. With Steve McClaren's departure to Middlesbrough in the summer of 2001, Phelan was promoted to first-team coach. He was appointed assistant manager of Manchester United on 3 September 2008, replacing Carlos Queiroz who had left to manage the Portugal national football team.[1] For many seasons, Phelan was seen conducting interviews with BBC programmes such as Match of the Day due to United manager Alex Ferguson refusing to speak with the BBC He was Sir Alex Ferguson's right-hand man during three Premier League title wins, a Club World Cup, two League Cups and two runs to the final of the UEFA Champions League. He departed the club shortly after Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.[4] Still makes me chuckle
I wouldn't mind Phelan getting a crack at it, get Joyce in as assistant manager and I'd be well happy with that.
Didn't they then push a couple of players onto Bruce too? I'm thinking the Egyptian duo? Or did Bruce sign those?
Cash saving trick tell Bruce no cash available so he walks Is that cheaper than sacking and paying compensation, maybe they'd decided like a few cit fans that Bruce couldn't establish us as a Premiership club and we needed an upgrade May if saved us a few million paying Bruce off Not saying it's right but that's how it seems to me
It will have saved one year's wages as he was on a rolling contract. A tiny amount in the context of things.
Martinez...too expensive Coleman....why would he bother Phelen.......Part of old regime All points to Bradley IMHO
With respect, that's utter rubbish! It's all a question of priorities. Mine is for a successful team, the priority for others on here is that they want the Allam's out regardless. If the Allam's appoint a good manager and make cash for transfers available to him then I'm happy with that. Others aren't.
Waggy... I do think you miss the point, though of course you are entitled to your opinion. EVERYONE on here wants Hull City to do well.. Some wanted Bruce IN, some wanted Bruce OUT. We all want a good/great new manager IN. We all want a group of players that allows us to achieve what we all want, to at least compete on a level playing field on the field against those that will dictate what happens to us next May. What the vast majority almost to exclusion on here do not want for a multitude of reasons which I wont repeat are cretins who have brought the name of this great club and its supporters into disrepute. If you can't see that, I and others can't help you. Doesn't stop you or I or anyone else wanting a successful team. No amount of money, or flash manager or success on the field would stop me and others wanting them OUT.
