Morning all ... I am still positive for this season because we have Monk as our manager ... we have suffered badly recently due to appointing managers who were not up to leading our club ... that first half at Posh was superb, and it showed a team capable of playing quick, controlled football ... not worried about second half as the legs went, because the players needed the 90 minutes in the heat ... I trust this Monk fella, he is switched on and focused, but more importantly he is calm and driven by an intense DESIRE to be successful at Leeds ... hopefully we can get those key signings in that Monk has openly stated he needs, and then we can move in the right direction

Let's face it, when Hockaday got the job we knew our season was finished before we even started pre-season ... when Evans came in for Rossler we knew he was all bluster and no polish, and he was merely interested in staying up rather than going up

Our players have shown that when they're up for it they can take on all comers, the problem having been managers who struggled to get consistent performances due to tactical errors and pig headed behaviour ... Monk will have his system set up, every player will understand their role, and the team will be confident and hungry ... add those signings we are still chasing and things are looking so much better ... Billy I agree with most of that, but I have worries that Monk isnt going to get the players he wants. Last weeks 2 dire 45 minutes performance was all about pairings and seeing who could do different jobs. it was shyte and didnt work, so he knows he cant rely on players playing out of position. He needs a couple of Madleys and a couple of top players

So Taylor and Botaka, more chance of someone leaving than someone joining at the moment despite Monday being the day Cellino expected the next man over the line

Great to read a proper post like this Billy after some of the gibberish that preceded it today

Billy, great post but without sounding too pessimistic it's all based on hope rather than evidence of past years. Hope Monk turns out to be as good as we think. Hope the new signings are all come up trumps and better than the previous lot. And hope for the two or three 'quality signings' manager needs, which makes it seem the same as the start of seasons for the past god knows how many years. Sincerely hope you're right <ok>

Ten percent growth year on year. Great business. Will need to extend Elland road in next decade at this rate

You seem to be discounting all those £7 a game kids tickets! Income will be down. Btw seen as he has binned all the stewards I know quite a few who will be getting in on kiddie ticket this season.
