Supposedly Reading have made a bid for Jacob Murphy, of just £300k. Surely that gets filed firmly under 'derisory'.

Playing canos and Whits at the same time isn't working on the right.

Whits goes forward too much and so does canos. It just leaves us short.

We have let class youngsters go on a free. I would not put it past our club to sell a class talent like that for that stupid and insulting money.

I really hope not! But the Murphy's have impressed before and then gone out on loan. I will be so much more excited for this season is both of them were in our squad for this season. Us fans need this!
Fans love heroes. Think Dale Gordon, Ruel Fox, Darren Huckerby.
These Murphy boys could well be the next generation <ok>

Exactly. Just what I'm saying. local Boys breaking into the first team will lift us so high!

Ipswich do it all the time, and they have no money. Imagine if we actually gave our youth the same chance, but we have the Premiership parachute money too. We HAVE to do this right.

Apparently we've had a bid of £10m+ add ons for McCormack rejected by Fulham. Now another rumour of two bids being rejected but source of the second one isn't named. Could be another from us or someone else.

Looking forward to a match summary afterwards, BH <ok>
Hope you get a good game.
I went to a pre-season a couple of years ago that finished NCFC 6 Bury 3!
If I'm not wrong, Martin Olsson scored <yikes>

Yes, it was a good game and I'm fairly confident we'll see at least some of younger players named when the squad is announced!!

Match report is on the 'Pre Season' thread Cromer. <ok>

All three of last night's goals available here:

All of them were well taken. Wes' was a wonderful combination of power and accuracy from range. Jacob's cut-back to Josh for the second was excellent, as was Josh's squeezing his shot between two defenders to beat the keeper. Great looping pass from Maddison to Jacob to run on to and score for the third. Very promising indeed, as Braveheart has said.

Interesting choice of MotM in Read Norwich:

"Although he was on the pitch for less than 45 minutes, the player I was most impressed with was Ben Godfrey. The 18-year-old came on at centre-back alongside Sebastien Bassong and taught the veteran defender a lesson in defending. Godfrey was excellent at the back as the game became stretched, stopping Coventry from getting anywhere near McGovern’s goal. He read the play very well and his strength for someone of his age was astounding. He was shepherding Marvin Sordell off the ball with ease, which is no easy feat. A special mention has to go to James Maddison, who was also very impressive in the second half. McGovern, Toffolo, Dorrans, Mulumbu and the Murphy twins were all good performers as well."

Have we found our new CB?

I think what I'm finding so exciting about the coming season is how refreshed the team looks with the hopeful use of our youth players this year. For the past 3or4 years we have effectively had the same basic team, it's good to see some new faces seizing their opportunity.

Crass journalism in the extreme!
Just because Transfermarkt values Robbie Brady at £5.1m <doh> doesn't mean that's what Wet Sham would get him for, not by a long chalk. And expecting a 'discount' if they take Martin Olsson as well <yikes>
Supermarkets may have BOGOF offers, I'm not sure NCFC play by the same rules as that though <grr>

They should surely pay an extra premium for effectively stripping our left side of senior players :emoticon-0112-wonde
