It's sad that it ends up coming across that way. It should be a simple discussion on the goings on at the club. Why people try to make that personal is lost on me.

Might be wrong here, and I can't be arrised to trawl through pages of posts, but unless I'm mistaken you called PLT a tit in one of your posts.

He hadn't, to the best of my knowledge, called you any childish or insulting names prior. I don't believe he has since.

Just thought I'd point that out and if I am wrong on any of the above please accept my apology.

I used to get drawn into these sorts of arguments on a regular basis but not now.

All I did was ask some questions and offer an explanation as to why the Allams may have forced the Americans to walk away, mainly on CI. All I got was defensive responses which made me think even harder about why a very rich American consortium didn't just pay the asking price in cash and get on with it.

Maybe it's not 'just' about the money. My gut feeling points towards other conditions that may have been included in the sale, which may or may not have forced a rethink.

As with most posts on this thread, this is just purely speculation. It's just hard to see Ehab relinquishing total control to a third party, even if they've paid the asking price.

I'm certainly all for not believing everything you read or hear. Always be cautious if you've not seen or heard it yourself.

However, given the past events with the Allams that belief goes out the window.

We all know about the lying, deceitful, unreasonable, pig headed nature of our owners, yet people giving them the benefit of the doubt here makes it sound as if they've somehow tried to make right their wrongs and have changed or something.

They haven't. They're still the complete arseholes they've shown themselves to be time and time again.

For me what OLM has been saying is perfectly logical and makes so much sense. I have no reason to not believe him. Can anyone say that about the Allams?

Like I said, given their form, why do we want to believe they're not to blame this time?

Allams Out!

You want me to post evidence of me having information about the failed sale?

I'm not going to say who it's from if that's what you mean, but I'm pretty sure Obi is wrong with his suspicion on that if it's leading him to think that there's parallels with the Bartlett takeover. It certainly isn't Paul Duffen if that's what he was thinking.

If that's not what you mean then you'll have to be a bit clearer about what you're after.

I don't think Paul Duffen was helping the American bid.

A thought just crossed my mind, what if, now that Mr Allam has spit out his dummy, he then does not sell the club and keeps it. Then just to be really spiteful he spends no more money whatsoever and lets the club drop through the leagues into the Conference. I know its a nightmare thought but does he have to spend the money (£180M or so) on the club or can he pocket it and let the club sink?

Obviously I'm aware, that the 'I'll be gone in 24 hours' and 'I'll give it away for a pound' were lies, but at least now we have confirmation that he'll only sell if he's offered more than it's worth.
I suspect it wasnt so much about more than its worth but more, coming into negotiations working out the yanks would be working with the council to develop the stadium area in harmony which drove him to the spiteful decision to ask for 5999999 more than his previously noted AMC asking price

If I had to put money on an outcome of this debacle , that's the scenario I'd go for.

Hopefully any future bidders do their homework and avoid a similar situation.

No offence, but I think that thought has come to you a lot after it came to several others
It doesn't look unlikely, but we'll see what budget the new manager is given...then we'll know

I think many were thinking that it was very likely that the Allams may do that. I would have thought that if they were going to do that they might as well have gone the whole hog and sold the players we have already and put out a team of juniors. I suppose they are too embarrassed to go that far, though.
