This really upsets me, why do some people think it's ok? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36877509
It's dreadful Dave in this day and age, unbelievable to think that in the 70s if someone yelled " Trigger, trigger, trigger" in the Barclay the whole stand would shout "Shoot that N*****!" Makes me cringe to think back now but that's just the way it was.
I can't see anyone on here arguing against that. It makes me feel ashamed every time. All we can do is our bit for our club. We get a generalised bad rep. Jimmy Carr has always made jokes about us marrying our sisters.Which has always angered me, because it's like a default joke now. No matter where he is, if he asks a man if he's out with his wife, If he says, no just out to see your show with my sister. All the Norfolk jokes come out. Even if it's in Scotland or something. I get angry with that generalisation. If I get offended by that, I Can't imagine how it feels to be on the end of racism. I can't believe racism still exists.
It's a joke, get over it. I accept that it's worn out and lazy but Jimmy Carr was brilliant when I saw his show live earlier this month. Two hours of solid laughter.
It's not "a" joke is it. It's thousands of jokes and it's very old. I saw his new Netflix live show, and couldn't believe the first half, it was like old cliche jokes from the early 90's. The second half was alright when he was interacting with the audience a bit.
The right decision - Burnley ban fan indefinitely for racial abuse of Bradford player http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36889070.
I have never bought into this PC racist humour thing. Jokes are just jokes and racists are hardly likely to be made such by hearing them. My own criteria is whether they are funny. My favourite us the Irishman being interviewed for a job as a builder, the foreman asks him the difference between a joist and a girder. "Sure" says Mick. "Goethe wrote Faust and Joyce wrote Ulysses".
But it is abuse against someone who can do nothing about there origins. I could not chose where my parents brought me up, not that I would chose any differently but I can be no more from somewhere else as someone black can be white or a dirty carrot top can be a brunette, wait a second, there is just for men! Bah!
Shouting abuse at a footballer for being black is disgusting we have laws to prosecute people and other fans should point these people out to the stewards and police. Shouting sheep shagger at Cardiff fans is just a bit of fun IMO.
I actually disagree here Mr Donuts, I take extreme offence when people from Norfolk are called 'inbred' and having 'webbed feet' and 'six fingers', yet evidently these 'jokes' (sic) are considered ok. In my opinion it is no different to someone telling a black guy to 'go back to the jungle', both are offensive in my eyes. The irony of course is that those who crack the jokes about Norfolk people are invariably those from the inner City **** holes who have never even ventured into God's own county
