The new CB can apparently do a job at LB so maybe Klopp is thinking he can cover Moreno if anything happens. Don't agree with that thinking myself but Clyne can also do a job over there while Gomez played there a few times and looked decent last year.
Having someone fill-in is last resort stuff though. I'd rather we got a strong established team of players who are all in their best positions.

It's been two years <yikes>..........how much more time can we afford to give him?

To be fair he's only just turned 24. He's not exactly old.

Roberto Carlos was around the same age when he was at Inter when he was written off by a certain Roy Hodgson because of his lack of defensive ability.

I don't think he will develop but I'd rather take our chance with him than someone like Willems.

True, just wondering if klopp is going to keep faith with Moreno this year as his number 1 is knowledge that there are are least 2 who could 'do a job' short term if needed

And Flanno unless he goes elsewhere

Another year of several names through the door (so far). I know it was needed but we know that many of the new names will take time to settle, especially so as we seem to be buying young lads with talent instead of the finished article. Klopp has done similar before so knows what he's doing but I just hope that we all have the necessary patience to allow him to develop this team if results are not forthcoming quickly <ok>

i agree. patience is key.

I don't think we've got to the root of the issues yet.

I don't think either can nor henderson have the game right now (if klopp can train it into them he's genius) to play that interception and reading game as holding players. I don't think milner or grujic can either.

so right off midfield will be an issue as we go through season. He's added a lot at attacking midfield and we will jsut see how it works out. we needed adding when in effect we'd 3 to play and nobody to take their place.

LB is an eye sore right now.

Klopp's chanced CB round and added a GK.

DOes the team yet have a strong spine... not so sure honestly we will see.

CHILWELL TO LEICESTER?
Jurgen Klopp
will make a last-ditch bid to lure Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell to Liverpool.
Chilwell is being offered a new contract at the Premier League champions but reports suggest Liverpool will make a final bid to bring the England U21 defender to Anfield

Joe Allen to have a medical with Stoke City today ahead of a £13m transfer. [HASHTAG]#LFC[/HASHTAG]

I still have mixed feelings about him going, I think he's better than Henderson and Milner. fact is though we have to aim higher, he's not what we want from a midfielder. It was a tough game but when he needed to step up for Wales v Portugal the pressure seemed to get to him and he was awful, can we rely on him in big games? I have my doubts and feel that this may well be the right move.

given he's not really looked like signing a new contract, I think we have to cash in.

I usually go on about signing more than 2 or 3 players in a window is bad news. However, this time feels different for some reason. We saw how weak our back up was last year and with Klopp's first window it had to be done.

The positive about getting a few players in is we got the majority done very early so they've got a while to be coached and also play some games together. Transfer Deadline day won't even be worth staying up for tbh - which is a good thing.

One more player then it's only selling, very good summer of business imo. The fact Klopp has said he's had 100% say on all signings is also a massive positive. I just trust he's had a good deep look at the team and worked out exactly what's needed - then got in early and done the deals.
