I take your points gents.... perhaps I should have said that his successful manager ship sailed a good while ago.

"Allam snr, understood to be in poor health and no longer involved in the everyday running of the club, brokered talks in a bid to persuade Bruce to stay.

It was not the first time Bruce had threatened to walk, having raised doubts about his position following Hull’s play-off win over Sheffield Wednesday two months ago.

This time, however, the former Sunderland, Wigan and Birmingham boss was not for turning. Lawyers were called in to discuss the terms of his departure while the players trained without him on Friday morning."
It looks like Assem wanted Bruce to stay but that Bruce was fed up with dealing with Ehab.
It also seems that Bruce received a pay-off that realised the unacceptable situation he had been put in. There is no way that anybody sensible would consider that Ehab had been "shrewd".
Ehab is toxic and there is no way that any responsible manager could work under him.

He's not achieved anything in the UK since he left Boro in 2006, he's had chances at Forest, Derby and Newcastle and done pretty **** on every occaission. That's 10 years ago since his last relative success, he's since done an OK job with Twente in a Mickey Mouse league. He's ****, current track record supports that - all he would do is guarantee relegation.

Does anyone on here believe the Allams will shell out for a 'blow your socks off' type manager?

    If so....<laugh>

No. Bruce was our manager when we got relegated but we had some injuries to key players. We wouldn't have gone down if it wasn't for that incredible run by Leicester. Last season we would have got promoted easily if the Allam's hadn't messed up with Andre Gray. I accept that Bruce has had some bad times before the ends of seasons but we've still been promoted. I think most managers go through bad spells.
The Allam's must want to get their borrowings back from the TV money but they could have got that back by selling the club. Any buyer would have seen that we had a reasonable chance of staying up if we invested wisely. In that way we could have made profits each season and/or increased the value of the club.

The above post makes a good point - Ranieri had been **** everywhere for a decade and had never won a league.

As for 'Twente in a Mickey Mouse league', it was an incredible achievement to win it against Ajax and PSV.

Sunderland managed to stay up because of Sam and signing Defoe. We could stay up by spending a lot on strikers and a few cheaper options in other positions. There's quite a few less "glamorous" clubs in the Premier League this season so it would have been easier to compete.

When Allam Marine were making £19m profit in 2011 it could have been worth £400m but now it's only making £6m in 2015 it may only be worth £120m.
We don't know how much the Allam's have had to borrow from banks to finance their lifestyle, make donations and funding Hull City. They could be in dire straits. Anybody remember Robert Maxwell?

I know the Allams piss many people off, but I don't think they've double crossed Mossad (yet) :emoticon-0105-wink:

You could argue the team Ranieri inherited was the team that won the league. We don't have that team and nor would McClaren be capable of delivering it.

PSV and Ajax are both spent forces in Dutch football. That's why the majority of Dutch internationals players play outside their domestic league.

The New Saints have won the League of Wales 5 out of the last 6 years. That's probably of equal relevance.

It has crossed my mind that the Allam empire may be struggling, even more so with the old man not at the helm as they may be some transactions that only he knows the substance of.Hence the reason they see the football side of things the golden goose and the reason for the £6m extra on the price.
