Reds players told to grab their chances against QPR 9:30am Tuesday 2nd August 2011 By Steve Hollis » Print Email Comments(0) Boss Steve Evans has challenged Crawley’s fringe players to grab their chance to play in the club’s historic first game in the Football League. Evans admits he has made up his mind on the majority of his side to take on Port Vale on Saturday but there are still a few spots up for grabs. Those battling to be involved in the League Two opener at Vale Park will get a final chance to stake their claims against QPR at Broadfield Stadium tonight. Evans said: “We’ve had a very good pre-season and tonight’s game is really about fine tuning but players are still competing for places. I have probably got seven or eight of the team for Port Vale picked on paper but that leaves three or four places available depending on the formation we go for. “Taking on QPR will be a tough test and it is a last chance to impress for some players. I certainly think that there is an opportunity for players to put their names firmly in the mix.” Read these Sport stories

@jacobmurtagh Jacob Murtagh #QPR team v Crawley: Murphy, Orr, Connolly, Gorkss, Peroni, Buzsaky, Moen, Helguson, Smith, Ephraim
@OfficialQPR QPR FC Crawley should provide the R's with a decent test, too. 11 days to go until the big kick-off ... the excitement builds #QPR
@davidmcintyre76 David McIntyre At Crawley. Must say I'm surprised Perone is still with #QPR as I thought he'd be gone by now. Connolly at left-back to accommodate him too. ================================ makes 2 of us.
If Gorkss was about to be exchanged would NW bother starting him when he could give another player a chance to prove themselves?
