TRIALIST Bruno Peroni will get another chance to impress QPR boss Neil Warnock in tonight's friendly at Crawley Town.

The centre-back has been on training with the club during pre-season and was included in the tours to Cornwall and Italy.

Warnock has already snapped up Danny Gabbidon, but will give Peroni the chance to stake a claim for a contract against the League Two new boys at Broadfield.

Reds players told to grab their chances against QPR

Boss Steve Evans has challenged Crawley’s fringe players to grab their chance to play in the club’s historic first game in the Football League.

Evans admits he has made up his mind on the majority of his side to take on Port Vale on Saturday but there are still a few spots up for grabs.

Those battling to be involved in the League Two opener at Vale Park will get a final chance to stake their claims against QPR at Broadfield Stadium tonight.

Evans said: “We’ve had a very good pre-season and tonight’s game is really about fine tuning but players are still competing for places. I have probably got seven or eight of the team for Port Vale picked on paper but that leaves three or four places available depending on the formation we go for.

“Taking on QPR will be a tough test and it is a last chance to impress for some players. I certainly think that there is an opportunity for players to put their names firmly in the mix.”

R'S IN ACTION AT CRAWLEY TONIGHT!
Posted on: Tue 02 Aug 2011

QPR's penultimate pre-season friendly arrives in the shape of a fixture against newly-promoted League Two side Crawley Town tonight (Tuesday).

Neil Warnock and his troops travel to the Broadfield Stadium - home of Blue Square Premier Champions - for a 7.45pm kick-off.

With just 11 days to go until the R's kick off their Barclays Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Bolton Wanderers, Warnock is expected to field a strong line-up this evening.

R's fans looking to make the trip to West Sussex are reminded that there are no advanced ticket sales.

Crawley should provide the R's with a decent test, too. 11 days to go until the big kick-off ... the excitement builds #QPR

At Crawley. Must say I'm surprised Perone is still with #QPR as I thought he'd be gone by now. Connolly at left-back to accommodate him too.

If Gorkss was about to be exchanged would NW bother starting him when he could give another player a chance to prove themselves?
