The biggest problem i have had with our midfield under BR is that the players were too similar - Lallana is basically an average version of Couts and Firm,.none of them are particularly pacy or powerful which made our build up play too slow and predictable at times.

Mane adds something different and, though i am unsure if Wijnaldum can be consistant enough, he has got pace to burn. Will be interesting to see where Klopp plays him though

Team spirit is the magic word, with all the stars in the world without team spirit, the team is not going to win anything Leicester did, so others can emulate Leicester.

I would think the following are under threat;
Balotelli (well duh)
Wisdom
Lucas (should the right bid come in)
Markovic
Allen
Alberto
Benteke
Ilori

Now just need to find buyers for them

Yes I'm sure a few young lads will go on loan due to work permits too. Ilori is a problem. If he's going to olympics I am wondering about the transfer window timing around that. Plus he's bound to get crocked as per.
 
It's looking less and less like we'll get a left back now, which is a pity - Moreno just isn't up to it. I'd try Moreno on the left of a midfield three in 4-3-3, or even left of three in 4-2-3-1, but defensively he's just garbage. This is accentuated when you see how defensively good Clyne is on the other side, and I know some have suggested moving Clyne to LB and putting Flanno at RB: but why should we sacrifice a class act to compensate a weakness? Remember when we did that by playing Rob Jones at left back to allow McAteer, a natural wing back but iffy at RB, to play there? To me, especially as our CB line is looking more solid, is to buy a class LB who can also offer versatility, not a versatile player who can cover LB.

Matip and Gomez can LB when we need a solid defender, Moreno is an option against teams who sit

In the friendly (only a friendly blah blah blah) his attacking link up with Mane was good

Grujic is the best CM buy of any PL club (even assuming Man Utd get Pogba and Everton get Sissoko)

Two long-term C/B's Astro. It's the summer transfer window - we need a proper left back.

We can wait another window or two for the right one. We are being linked with them so it just seems like not the right player at the right time yet.

We can't play another season with Moreno at left back and wasting Ford in a quasi left midfield position in a futile attempt to cover him. Ford, like Beardsley of old, is sound at harassing defenders on the ball: he's pretty useless at tackling with his back to goal thirty yards out. Needs sorting now, even if we buy a stopgap old hand.
