That Bairstow one in the first innings was like bowling a ten year old by getting them to hoik horizontally at a slow ball aimed straight at the wicket , but with back spin on it. No middle order batsman should fall for that, especially one with his eye in who's got the seamers in his pocket. As you say, just do nothing against the spin that you don't have to (just kick the leggie away when 3 out of five balls pitch off line on leg) and take the ineviatable bad balls from the relatively ordinary seamers. Why were we trying to hit the spinner out of the attack? We had two days to get 283. No ****ing rush.... Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!![]()
I agree... very very poor.
the only two who showed any sort of game was vince and woakes and both just played solid.
The pakistan batsmen just hung around.. they just waited and picke doff stuff and built that lead while england should little patience and chased in both innings.
What we proved was that they have very little batting especially down the tail but that while we have batting we've guys who are indisiplined and lacking patience.
I agree with you. You could have stood there all day hitting it back where it came from or padding it away.
It was the same v all the left handers. they were coming round wicket to right handers so the ball was always pitching outside leg so no lbw but we still managed to **** that up.
