Norwich 2 - 1 Ruban Kazan
TEAM: Ruddy 7; Pinto 7, Turner 5 (Ramsay), Klose 8, Whittaker 7; Mulumbu 7, Howson 7, Naismith 8; Canos 7 (Odjidja-Ofoe), Andreu 6, Jerome 7
Turner sent off for 2 yellows, neither of which looked worthy of a yellow. Actually he was replaced by Ramsay who moved to LB and Whittaker to CB (where he did a good job).
Very impressed with this match compared to the Dukla Prague one. City played with pace and crisp passing using a 4-3-3 formation against quality opposition. Excellent ball by Whittaker up to Jerome for the first goal. My first glimpse of Canos and he looked very lively with excellent movement and good ball control. He also tracked back very effectively when the ball was lost and looks very promising indeed. Jerome worked hard up front and took his goal well. Naismith was very lively with good touches and passing and scored the second goal after exchanging passes with Jerome and then turning his man to drive a crisp shot into the far corner with the Keeper stranded at the near post. Howson and Mulumbu also worked hard throughout and the latter was quite a dominant presence throughout. Except when they were caught by a razor-sharp breakaway in the first half, the defence looked solid and in control. Ruddy had no chance with the goal, but otherwise looked solid as well.
