No offence to you, and a few others, but that was the problem I think.

He's genuine, intelligent and has a happy family life, a dream 'job' and a multitude of interests & experiences.

I think he found a lot of the threads to be full of repetitive drivel, faux banter and thinly veiled racism.

I'm in touch with him quite often and he says he'll be turning up in the Victory this season for a 'meet up'.

He always shows up when he says he will.

    Kirchoff, already?

If he can carry on the same, then he may deserve a place in that team. But its a bit to early yet imo.

    Random.

If you go to a shop to buy some beer/ale/cider etc.

Do you opt for cans or bottles?

Do you them drink them from said cans/bottles or do you pour it into a glass?

    Probably the best way.

Beer. Cans i will drink from the can. No glass needed. Bottles,if small 330 bottles no glass needed. But if a large bottle, i will use a glass.

    @MrRAWhite

Tributes have been paid to Durham Miners' Association general secretary Davey Hopper, who has died after a heart attack.
His death was confirmed in a statement from Roy Lambeth, chairman of The Durham Mining Museum: "It is with great sadness I have to report the death around 4pm this afternoon 16th July 2016 of General Secretary of The Durham Miners' Association Dave Hopper following a heart attack."

Davey Hopper was not a man to shy away from controversy, demanding the Monkwearmouth Miners’ Banner be taken down from the reception of the Stadium of Light and handed back to members in protest at the decision to appoint Paolo Di Canio as the Black Cats' head coach and more recently announcing Labour MPs who had not backed leader Jeremy Corbyn would not be welcome at the Durham Miners' Gala - including the city's own MP Roberta Blackman-Woods.

I was never a fan of this bloke who longed for union leaders to have their political influence back which in my opinion was what knacked the Labour party up in the late 1970's and created the space for Thatcher to rip the country apart.. I also thought he was out of order with the things mentioned above. Having said this, I do believe that he was a man of conviction and my thoughts go out to his family and friends,

As this thread is about nothing in particular I'll hoy this in which amuses be but probably none of you.

Me and 3 sons were sitting in the Victory, on a weekend up for the match, and I'd had a few.

I drunkenly announced, "This place has draft Scotch, ham & pease pudding stotties and only 10 minutes stagger from the ground ..... it's a paradise"

My sons, "Yes but it's always boiling hot in here."

Me, "OK then, it's a tropical paradise!" <laugh>

Since then it's been known to us all as The Paradise ......... which must confuse a few when we're saying where we'll be pre-match.
