It is a shame (sort of, as I don't particularly want Leicester to do well again) but it shows straight away that it doesn't matter how successful a smaller club is in the short term, players can still be easily lured away for the right price, will give up playing for a team in European cup competition for a "big" team with no European games.
I expect the word ambition will be mentioned, but its all either down to wages or location.

Wouldn't even need a salary cap. The problem stems from the fact that contracts can be torn up and rewritten at any time...players would be far less likely to push for a move if it did not come with financial bonuses.
Alas, neither will ever happen.
We would never sign a player from a financially weaker club by paying him more, of course.
