Newbury is such a fair course and a great favourite with trainers for 2yo debuts. The first on the card is a 7f maiden and I've picked out 3 that stand out to me on pedigree. The first is the probable favourite Asaas.. Though stated as US bred, and yes he is by a US sire Distorted Humor, he is out an unraced Galileo half-sister to Invincible Spirit and Kodiac: a cracking pedigree. Then you look at I'vegotthe power and you see he is by Power out of a mare from the same family as Oh So Sharp and of course Petite Etoile. My final choice is probably the best pedigree of the 3 and that is Jewel House by Dubawi out of a Dansil half-sister to Frankel's dam. I'd side with Asaas I suppose. The second on the card is not so blue blooded but to me the pedigree for the race is Partitia who is by Bated Breath out of a half-sister to Camacho and Showcasing, so should have the speed for this 6f. If you fancy a longer price don't ignore Sparkle who is by Oasis Dream out of a mare from the fine Sangster/Coolmore family of Thatch etc. The 7f fillies maiden at Newmarket this evening is not so well endowed but top of the card Blending is a Medicean filly out of a Dabnsili half-sister to Kingman and of course from the same family as Oasis Dream..

Zanouska 20/1 Kilbeggan 7.25 Hard to know what you will get from this horse but pitched into this (80-102) a mark of 89 does leave some wiggle room for this ex Mark Johnston beast. Her last runs can be forgiven, slow ground didn't favour her and some poor jumping cost her, she travelled well for a long way before tiring and easing off lto at Bellewstown but their is a piece of form 3 runs back that gives most optimism. Ran a lovely race and looked a winner before just being chinned in a bunched finish by Pace and Passion (106). Fine margins often dictate what wins and loses at this level, there's no world beaters among these, largely exposed types. Gordon Elliot wouldn't be hanging onto Zanouska if he didn't feel there was a race or two about for her and if she can jump well i hope she can make the frame tonight under the steering of Kevin Sexton.
RECONCILIATION Pont 7.00 Tipped this up last week but it didn't run, they have smashed into it today 6/1 in to 5/2 I would have put it up last night but I was sooooo ****ing miserable!
