Can anyone remember a worse one than this?

Embarrassing.

Shows great ingenuity. But is also a cheating bastard!

The ref gave a pen for this. <laugh>

The cheating in football is without doubt the worst aspect of the game. Personally I think drastic action needs to be taken. How about a Purple Card covering a 6 month ban from the game without pay. The card could be issued and the offence considered with video evidence after the match, if this shows clear cheating then the ban takes effect.

Cheating is not tolerated in other sports but in football it is part of the culture this has to be wrong. If you cheat in golf for example you are finished as a player why not in football.

shirt pulling annoys me ,how the ref or lino can,t see it sometimes is beyond me.the worst offender seems to be vidic, whenever i watch him the minute someone gets past him he gets a hold of thier shirt

Obstruction has always been one of my pet hates.
The rules state that its not allowed, but the refs don't seem to care if a player holds an opposing player back until the ball slowly rolls out of play, and sometimes even gives a free kick against the player trying to get to the ball. Its madness.

Make the paleyers wear the skin tight shirts as worn by rugby players - it's almost impossible to get hold of the fabric and normally if it is grabbed it rips, proof that shirt holding has taken place.

Then it'd be obvious if players like Grant Holt, Kranjcar and Sol Campbell are overweight.

Everyone wins :D

I think Hudd already wears one of those. <whistle>

In the 2012/13 season we've got under armour as our new kit designers, and they sure do love their tight shirts.
We might have a slight advantage against shirt-tuggers.

Players using their elbows against defenders when a corner is being taken always irritated me - Alan Shearer got away with it for years.

As for introducing new punishments for diving, the problem is you know clubs will appeal decisions on the bans to get an extra game out of their players, especially if they just so happen to have a game against title rivals up next. Yes, I am implying that Manchester United do this already...

They need to add extra games on for failed appeals and speed up the process so even if they appeal it is done before the next game so teams can't get around it.

That's what they do for appeals already - but say it was Gerrard facing a suspension and their next game was against a team they were battling for CL qualification, and after that they have games against teams in a relegation battle, they'd risk being without him for those games just as long as he scored a winner against Spurs/Arsenal/City.
