I always remember Wenger saying in an interview "sometimes in football you have to score a goal to win the game", maybe the French know another way

TBH I have never seen anything about Pogba that would convince me he is anything but a decent youngish player.

I think if that was the best Europe has to offer we should all be looking to South America or Africa for future transfers.

It really is a sign of the times. Somewhere along the way, the idea that "football = cautious approach" has become the mantra.

Portugal manager should be commended for implementing a strategy which they never changed throughout the tournament and it got the result, but **** me there were plenty of other teams that had the opportunity to go for the jugular and simply either bottled it or thought that playing the "cagey game" was the best option.

EDIT: btw this is also true of many leagues and the CL. No surprise that many established clubs failed last season. Where has this bollox come from.

Iceland and Wales were the best stories. The football was garbage. Just never got off the ground. I think Germany had the best team, but they lucked out against the French. I'll always remember the final for the moths. Says it all.

Oh, and our Out Louts getting their heads kicked in by the Ruskies made me chuckle too.
