And that's the problem, you can't argue against a diatribe of fantasy. When someone can basically make up anything how do you respond to that. At times I think SISU's back... but then I think he sounded far more rational <laugh>

Haha, Sisu would have all over this like a tramp on chips <laugh>

From the crash was coming anyway, to I don't care about its impact as it won't drastically affect me. Just proves you're both delusional and someone who's likely to have **** all to lose, if you can come out with a comment like that.

Amazing isn't it, the "I'm alright Jack" sentiment while hating the London types who held the exact same view when others suffered. Goes to show the level of hypocrisy... and given the right set of circumstances how one set of people are no different to the other.

Yet again you ignore what I wrote just to keep your baseless argument alive. Now you are resorting to ageism, that's really helping your cause. Tobes. Now **** off, there's a good lad, Tobes. <laugh>

Anyways back on track......watched a bit of the politics show this morning and one of the guest said that at the start of the campaign the remain party, all sat round a table and tried to think of 5 good reasons to remain in the EU. After going round and round in circles, they couldn't come up with any. Once they lost the economy argument, even with all of the help that the financial sector tried to give them, they were stumped!!
If the supposedly "best minds" in the country didn't have an answer, beyond the economy, how the hell were the rest of us mere mortals supposed to know?

I saw the same programme. The person you're quoting was a Daily Mail journalist. I thought you are only interested in genuine debate on here? BTW what did you think of the piece by the Remain Campaigner before that?

Not sure exactly, I was passing through the lounge and the TV was on. It started with a young lady, who I think headed up the remain campaign, doing a piece on the remain campaign in general ((where there HQ was based in an old brewery, which as a eurosceptic thought was ironic (being based, where another industry was allowed to go to ****, buts that's for another day)) and where she thought it failed. Then when I then came back through the lounge, it had moved into the studio and there was three studio guests ( a young man and two young ladies). It was one of the young ladies that seemed to know what went on and made the comments?

Didn't know that, as explained to Tobes, but thought she sounded as though she was In the know!
I did listen to the young lady who headed up the remain campaign and I think she reiterated what we all saw, two campaigns based on lies and accusations, which kind of makes the comments I made in the previous post more credible.

I can only ask you what the **** it is you are on about? I saw the use of the word Darkies on a couple of occasions and I thought it was unnecessary; it added nothing to the discussion.

Is it mandatory to watch those programmes or are we allowed to give them a miss, as they were 40yrs ago (ish) and I was abroad for much of that time. I certainly don't recall anyone referring to them at the time when the term Darkies was used in this discussion. The programmes you mention used those terms in well defined sarcasm and humour; this conversation, at that time was not that, no where even close.

I suppose Tobes is being comical referring to me as old or those who make broad brush insults about the folk of Hull and Sunderland are simply being highly amusing on an intellectual basis? As it is pretty much the same group of people who you refer to then I can't see why it is not reasonable to expect that their collective bigotry is ingrained; or do you think I should try and be selective about what they mean and when?

If you have an issue with Peter Saxton or Hull City DMD, then take it up with them, as I do on many occasions.

You say: "Where you let yourselves down is in coming to his defence over his bigotry simply because he happened to vote the same way as you. Ironically, all you're doing is confounding the misconception that you're all bigots which clearly you're not."

Could you explain where you have developed that part of your argument from, and give particular attention to the part highlighted, as I think you are making it up. I don't recall defending anything Peter might of said that was in anyway bigoted - either respond with example or just apologise, it's really simple.Ironically all you are doing is confirming my belief that you make your statements and accusations by constructing false arguments and including simple lies about what I have said.

Which only goes to show knowing half the facts is a dangerous thing. Something the Brexiteers are finding out all too well now <whistle>

How do you mean, I thought her premise was that they focused early on, on making the economic argument which proved successful in restricting the Leave campaign to a point where they couldn't respond.. But because it was very early on, they inadvertently became a victim of that success as the Leave campaign then moved the debate on to their foothold, namely immigration. And the Remain campaign were unable to bring it back to the Economic argument as it couldn't hold up against the concerns being raised by immigration. The end of her piece was probably a bit bias, but up to the point I've mentioned I thought there was merit in what she said.
