A thoroughly deserved dig as well. Reed deserved a much more chance last season. He has been quality every time I've watched him play.
With more games this year, and a manager willing to play youth, there are exciting times ahead. Wouldn't mind seeing a midfield of ; Romeu JWP Reed at some point, maybe in one of the cups.
I agree. I was very puzzled that Reed who looked good playing under MP went to never seen under Koeman. Obviously an area where RK did not match our manager template.
I hope Harrison has a blinder for so many reasons, but one of those would be F-you to Ron. Prove him wrong kid.
Koeman eventually started making the observation that a club wants success now, not just in the future, so he needed to field his strongest team. In a sense he was going slightly off message there, as this club is a patient one.
This is interesting, because clearly this is what the club want and last season there were a lot of fans moaning that Kids weren't getting a chance. Now we have fans commenting* that we aren't signing enough and going to use the kids. It is a no win situation. * did you like my tactful use of this word?
Balance, balance, balance. Giving kids a chance doesn't obviate buying players and being successful. The kids need to be involved in senior training so that they are seen regularly by the manager and are familiar with what he wants....then be ready if they are called. Never being seen, so never considered must be the depressing thing...how can you develop under those circumstances.

I still say that, based on the couple of performances I saw from Harry Reed last season in the U21s), he needs to considerably improve in order to step up to the PL. Maybe he'll use the pre-season to make his case. I'd like to think so
I think Reed may have gone backwards....I don't know whether this was due to lack of encouragement from Koeman (as implied in HR's interview) or perhaps because he would have done anyway. He has a fresh chance and has to take it.
Reed seems like a player that needs that spark that a crowd and real competition gives. I agree on the u21 games. The ones I saw he did not really shine, but I don't think he is going to be a midfielder who will get the ball and dictate play. Whether a player reasonable limited on the ball will be enough for us is debatable, but I believe he will up his game in the coming weeks, now there is fresh hope of first team football.
