    They have Benitez now I'm sure they see that as an upgrade regardless of short term pain.

    Not sure he would, he was dreadful towards the end of his time with arsenal. Think he might actually be retiring. Might be thinking of arteta though.

    And he'll jump ship as soon as he can. He couldn't have been any clearer that he was inviting offers during his decision making period.

    And as fans who supposedly love attacking flair you wait until they get a load of his brand of football from the start of a season. Napoli fans danced in the streets when he left and the next season they went on to have their best season since Maradona.

    Er, he just recommitted to them in the championship. He could have left when they got relegated.

    Amusing that you think they should be keen to bring pardew back but think Benitez is beneath them.

    I never said anything of the sort - neither that they should bring back Pardew nor that Benitez is beneath them. And as I said, he made it abundantly clear he would leave if offers came in.

    I'd forgotten how much you like to make things up. I really did prefer it when I was blocked...

    He's currently doing his first Man United press conference and was asked about this, he produced a list of the 49 players he's promoted from the youth to first teams at various clubs.

    Mourinho says he spoke to Fergie and asked him if he had any advice, he said "Bring an umbrella". <laugh>

    Staggered at 49. It's probably still low given his number of teams and years in charge?

    He must have promoted a lot outside of managing Chelsea because I can't remember hardly any.

    True about the umbrella - it does always seem to rain in Manchester!!
