The fact his party were then tailoring their image to what they were listening to without changing what they represented is another matter. The other parties need to listen properly not just say they are.

Fox - Had to pay the largest amount back in the expenses scandal and had to resign from his Government post due to allegations that he had given a close friend access to the MoD and allowed him to join official trips overseas.

Can't have it both ways. Article 50 is part of the Lisbon treaty, which is part of UK law, so that shouldn't need a separate Act of Parliament to enact and the referendum should be binding on the government by precedent, so I'm not sure how it's going to win. I think this is a time-wasting strategy - tie it all up in the courts, so that a general election can be called before a decision is made, in the hope that a new government won't be bound by the referendum of the previous one.

The NHS is going to be a thing of the past, I can see it now: 6 months: "We're all going to have to make some sacrifices to make Britain great again." 3 years: "We understand people are finding things difficult at the moment but Britain is really making headway and these cuts to public services now will help us in the long run." 5 years: "By introducing these paid for health services Britain's hospitals will finally be able to afford more beds and create a more efficient streamlined service that'll benefit us all. What's more, we can abolish 50% of your National Insurance contributions from your pay check yet you'll only pay a fraction of those savings in privatised health care!" 10 years: "We understand that some people feel frustrated that their health insurance premiums have doubled; that the salaries of the bosses from those firms running the hospitals have quadrupled in the last five years; that people are finding they're having to pay huge premiums for services that were once all inclusive before and that we haven't yet seen the promised improvement in services as we were expecting. We can assure you the Conservative party will have strong words with those hospitals and ask to find out why those changes have not yet happened."

So with a day left until the first round of voting for the new leader of the Tories / PM. All very exciting stuff. Scores on the doors at the time of writing are: Theresa May 117 Andrea Leadsom 37 Michael Gove 26 Stephen Crabb 21 Liam Fox 7 In this age of internet and transparency it will be the first time that people can see tactical voting (if they dare.) I expect some MPs will not declare before the first vote so that they aren't stuck with one side. These MPs will most likely be backbenchers angling for a junior role (or better) in the new government. My MP has not declared yet. Undoubtedly if it went through the rounds it would be May vs Leadsom going through to the member's vote but tactics will come into play. What the leave candidates will be hoping is that they can knock Crabb out before it gets to the last 3 otherwise you might see May suddenly "lose support" and Crabb suddenly "gain support" in an attempt to eliminate the "non May" candidate. George Osborne is "pulling the strings" for May. You might have noticed that the government are echoing her statements in the chamber. All the men were in there as tactical avenues. What to look out for: You might see Liam Fox drop out minutes before the first vote to try and get Crabb eliminated in the first round, if so Gove will then drop out after Crabb is eliminated and it will be straight to the members vote for the "girls". If Fox does stay in then he will be eliminated first anyway. At that point IF Crabb is still in then further rounds will all be dependent on Theresa May's support and if she has enough expect her vote count to go down and Crabbs increase to try and eliminate Leadsom at some point. Key numbers: 330 is the total count of Conservative MPS Leadsom will need 111 to stop May lending Crab votes in a final 3. (This can be a total of Gove, Fox and Leadsom at this stage as they are positioning for her to make the final 2.) If they can get this to the membership expect Leadsom to win as long as she isn't slaughtered in the MPs vote If she has more than a third I expect her to win in the member's vote. Bit like a match thread this...very exciting.
