Leicester's hunt for a new striker is a LONG process, but will hopefully develop soon #LCFC

That does not say a deal with a striker for them is done at all, it's merely interest which is developing #LCFC

A lot of hints on twitter...ive got a feeling they mean shane long...but don't quote on that...whu have dropped out of the running...apparently...the so called interest from liverpool is B/S they need to spend on the defence...so enter sven...5 up front with 2 on appearences and promotion? no more though...

I just hope we get a striker in as soon as possible. I think we'll lack cutting edge and goals if we don't.

I can't say I'm particularly excited by the prospect of Long - especially if we've bid £7-8m for him then that's crazy. If we're that desperate why don't we chuck £7m at Bristol instead? I rate Maynard higher and Long was not rated at all before last season.

At the same time though I'd definitely take him - he'd be an improvement on what we've got - and I'd rather him to Keane, Jerome or no one.

i dont know why, but long gives me no excitement factor. Without a big man to play off (hunt) he doesnt look special...

Long is 5"11 whereas Hunt is 5"8.

Long is the target man if anything, apart from Aaron McLean I havn't seen a footballer jump so high.

He was beating Hobbs to headers when Reading last played us.

I think by hinting at Long, Fourth Official is merely covering all bases. There have been hints at Shane Long in the media and if anything were to develop, Fourth Official can claim that he knew Long was happening all along as he hinted at it. However, if nothing were to happen, he doesn't loose any credibility because he can claim that he never directly mentioned Long to Leicester.

He has been reliable before but I think he's just covering all bases by giving these hints.
