So you've still not realised what you've done?

You've had a week now to see what truly awful arseholes were leading the Leave campaign, its clear they could not run a bath, its clear they don't know the meaning of the words decency and responsibility, and they have no answer to what Brexit means. Yet they were believed in their "we don't need experts" twatolological comments, their assurance all the economic talk was "project fear" even when it came from independent guys like the governor of the bank of England. It is unbelieveable.

What we are now just starting to see is the first of a long, long stream of announcements which will be 80% bad news, 20% good news (not the ideal balance). Of course people will minimise the effects, but a bad move for Britain is a bad move even if its not big in itself.

Plus all our energy will now be on this for the next 3 years.

Soon we will have an unelected prime minister of an ultra right wing conservative government, compared to which people like Cameron and Osborne would seem like moderates, determined to implement the 'mandate' the referendum gave them to do Brexit in any way they feel like without reference to what people might now want. For all this talk of a second referendum, there won't be any further checking with the electorate even if we did change our minds, they will just do what they want and claim they have the mandate. They have no opposition worthy of the name to even call them out on what they are doing, other than the SNP whose main objective is to get out of the UK, and fast.

We will lose our place as the European financial hub, we will find new investors from outside the EU no longer come here as the best way to enter the EU, we will have a weaker economy so will have less money (not more) to spend on vital services and defence, its unlikely we will keep a place on the UN security council as a truncated little England etc etc etc

This is a disaster. If you can't see it now, perhaps you will eventually (when it hits you between the eyes).

Its a small consolation, but at least as this horror story unfolds I can tell myself I voted the other way.

One thing I do agree on 2020, is we now have an elitist Tory government that believes very strongly in the division between rich and poor, demanding greater riches for the "wealth creators". They can now manipulate employment law, revoke minimum wage laws unchecked by the EU. And a choice between Thatcher mark 2 or Gove, be afraid, be very afraid

In Northern Ireland we have automatic dual nationality, and there are calls yesterday to open Irish passport offices in Belfast and Stroke City to cope with demand from Remainers looking to switch. I suspect these will not just be from the Nationalist community going forward, either.

We will still have access to the benefits of EU membership by the back door, so we're better off than most.

Not what most had in mind when they talked about a United Ireland though. <laugh>

But you really need to get a reality check, when the millions of Syrian migrants get there German/EU Citizenship sorted where do you think they would have headed for,yes several thousand ISIS wanabe's mixed in with them, when they let Turkey in the EU,PUT ON A FAST TRACK NOW,where do you think the millions of Turks would head with thousands of ISIS again, there will be some short term loss but the long term gain will be massive. Now suck it up you lost pick your toys up and put them back in the pram.

Well, the good news is - after the Brexit tossers have ruined the economy and there are no jobs, we will probably have negative net migration, as no one will want to come here and all the Brits will be pissing off. (Not an idle comment, my own daughter is applying for jobs down under as we speak, she's had enough)

Agree he helped the rich carry on getting richer but fundamental Tory dogma is that the lesser off need to be get less to make them "hunger" for success, whereas the rich leave if you tax them too heavily. Lets wait and see what this government does when they redact EU employment law and set them themselves without that constraint.

Go over to France or Germany you will see they have always had better employment laws than us,these very same laws stop many firms taking people on in them countries and that's why unemployment is so high over there. The way to force wages and conditions up is to stop the cheap foreign labour coming in and that's what we are now doing.
