I can see the sense in taking a punt on Roofe, he seems very highly rated by everyone, but a 26 year old with one good season in League Two is probably a punt too far for a Premier League club.

Roofe looks great value @ £3m.

As a free agent and low wages Matt Taylor is hardly a bank breaker and worth a punt. He might be out of his depth but unless you give someone a try you shall never know.

Well then stop saying stupid stuff. Jamie Vardy spent time in the Championship and proved himself there. The two above have not. Had we not gone up the two would be well worth a go. But in the best league in the country I don't think they'd make the step up straight away.

You keep posting the stupid stuff. The low risk financially makes it worth taking a chance.

In all fairness they have been far more that have failed compared to the one vardy who has been a success

Very true, however he who Dares Wins. .......................... sometimes. :emoticon-0105-wink:

The last time it was Eoin Doyle you kept banging on about, how did his big money move to Cardiff turn out?

He signed for Preston this morning.

Apparently according to The Sun we're after Nigerian centre forward Aminu Umar for £3m from Turkish Super Lig side Osmanlispor

Such as? I've suggested players I think would improve the team, you've suggested Rickie Lambert and some gonk from League 2 because 'they're cheap'. Pssst, Tickler, we're a Premier League club now, we're getting a huge cheque for a lot of money, why don't we spend some of that on some players?

Again, just because somebody is low cost doesn't mean they're worth the gamble. Ashley Flynn in non-league scored 78 goals in 49 appearances for AFC Emley last season, he wouldn't cost more than about £10k, but surely his price tag means he's worth the risk??

Get a grip and look at the signings being made by the other Premier League clubs, we have to match that standard. This isn't the season for ****ing about, we need to make sure we buy the quality to stay up and should not be looking any lower than the Championship for domestic signings.
