I don't have faith in either of them.
You'll find Gove is a very good politician and "gets things done." Thatcherite in approach but with a bit of Blairism thrown in. He will be a good PM but it then depends what fills the vacuum he leaves behind.

There is an article in/on the Spectator this week about Spain and it asking if they have found someone that can steady Spain's ship. I shall read what they say but I think the idea of an "outsider" coming in to any party and being immediately fast tracked is not a weakness within political parties. It is just the way things are. The Spanish wouldn't accept a Brit being headhunted and installed and vice versa.
Does anyone SERIOUSLY believe that , ultimately , we Won't invoke article 50 ?
It just beggars belief why the British have to put up with such talentless, witless and gormless politicians. You don't put a talentless goon to run the BoE, but that is what is going to happen when the Tories choose their next leader. Where is David Mellor when he is needed? Seriously, it has got to the stage where the best possible option is to be found in another country. I would go all out to get Angela Merkel (she would suit the Tories because she is a Conservative) to be honest but sadly it won't happen because our parties are totally inept and narrow-minded in their philosophy!! But we don't question it!!
No. We will. It is just a matter of time. I said a few days ago that the Tories will be sorted out pretty quickly and that this was buying time to get the party and government sorted out and "on message."
That's my Gut feeling as well . Just one more thing ImpSaint , heard on radio 4 today that the govt are calculating the brexit could take 5 years to negociate , surely that can't be right if some EU Countries refuse to an extension of the 2 year rule ?
Statements like that are made, like Gove's wife's "slip up" yesterday, to send a message. They are put out to force people's hand. They are saying that give us a good deal or things will get messy.
It means "The UK will pure and simple just leave on the 2 years if the EU seeks revenge. Be warned."
Scores on the doors for the Tory candidates. (Number of backers secured although some might change upon this mornings events)
Boris Johnson(34)
Theresa May (22)
Stephen Crabb (20)
Andrea Leadsom (None yet she only just announced)
Michael Gove (3 but again only just announced)
Liam Fox (3)
Nicky Morgan (3)
Jeremy Hunt (1)
Steve Brine (0)
John Baron (0)
The ones in red the only ones that realistically have a chance. Boris will struggle to make the top 2 now without Gove's backing. I did say there was resistance to him within the party and behind doors (as Gove's wife alluded to) the big media bosses don't like him either.

But these guys failed to stop Trump!!!
Interesting the Gove has deserted Boris, but not surprising as we all know his limitations.
God help us if either becomes PM.
Through gritted teeth I would prefer May, though Gove may be Labour's best chance to win.
If I could vote it would be May for me. Although she was remain she really could have gone either way and therefore I think she will take everyone's concerns into consideration and not just the leave campaigns. From memory I believe that 44m people are registered to vote and only 17m voted to leave so we need to remember that. Not saying we shouldn't now get on with it but just reminding people this wasn't an overwhelming decision.

Theresa May is the home secretary that brought through laws that effective restrict Freedom of Speech for some people while not restricting it for others. Hate Speech AGAINST minorities becoming a crime yet hate speech BY minorities allowed. There will be more of that sort of thing if she gets in. She has an agenda of Police cuts and a failure to get a handle on the immigration issue which has been a problem (for many) for a long time.
