Whichever ridiculous journalist writing for either the Guardian or Independent wrote the other day that Daniel Sturridge is the future of English football - get yer coat. Can't be arsed ****ing waste of space.
In tune with my other comments this week on other threads I would like to see a Royal broadcast from Prince Phillip tomorrow where he states "Joe Hart is a complete **** and will never play for England again". Goodnight.
Lewington and Neville gone as well. Apparently the management trio have a cunning plan to sort out this brexit malarkey.
Butland would be my choice but he bust his ankle a few months back. Roy wouldn't have picked him ahead of Hart though even if he had been fit.
That cunning "diamond" formation Germany and Italy have looked light years beyond England in the last couple of days ..............................
How could that tosser start with that line up? Pity he wasn't sacked after the Russia game; got that all wrong. Probably a nice bloke and good at nursing players but, tactically, he is just ****ing clueless. His final cock up was to leave it until the 85th minute to bring on Rashford I can't forgive him for being so ****ing useless. Thank God he had the sense to resign asap
High time we admitted that until Dan Ashworths grassroots revolution has been completed and matured, we're gonna be behind for a long time.
We're clearly miles behind the best when it comes to skill and technique but I don't see how you coach decision making and clear thinking. That game was up tonight after 20 minutes. They were like rabbits caught in the headlights. They had no clue what to do. At one stage we even tried to mimic them by opting for a long throw into the box against Icelandic giants.
Is it just me or is there some sort of elitism in the way England teams are picked. Take the two centre-halves for example, Cahill and Smalling get pick because they play for two of the top teams in England and John Stones doesn't get a look in. Joe Hart gets picked because he plays for City. Rooney doesn't have a clue how to play as a midfielder but still gets picked and Danny Drinkwater can't even get in the squad. All the players that are playing with the top teams are soft from playing with good players every week who will bail them out if the are in trouble where as the lads playing with the lesser teams in the premier league have to tough it out themselves on a weekly basis and are better players for it.
Dyke should be on his way out too - talking about your manager's future in the middle of a tournament
Waddle mentions 'leaders'. Does anyone know if Rooney is vociferous on the pitch especially when things not going to plan? My experience of International football is Die Mannschaft. In the current team you can 'see' Boateng, Hummels, Kroos. Khedira/Schweinsteiger and even Thomas Muller giving it what for whether the game is going well or there are problems.
For the life of me I can not believe how quick there was a full resignation letter put together from the plum. At least he was prepared for something just a crying shame he didn't put the effort into his over paid job
Agree wholeheartedly with everything said on here, another scheiss mess, What a calamitous week? Regardless, a huge well done to Iceland, yet another historic win for this tiny nation
I'm still at a loss at how we turned Harry Kane from fearsome top Premier League scorer into a punch-drunk, set piece taking mess in the space of 6-8 weeks. How he stayed on the pitch last night I simply have no idea.
The Spurs lads looked knackered to me, both mentally and physically,. Kane and Dele Alli have looked different players for Spurs. Maybe it's the tactics, management style, long season, disappointment of losing the league and dropping off late in the season. Who knows. Whatever it is they were not the same players as we've seen. The whole team were poor last night but you could argue it's been coming. Hodgson's finals record is abysmal so why should it change here? The facts are we struggled to beat Wales where a last minute goal got us out of jail, we couldn't break down Slovakia and Russia, who are abysmal, held us all game to just one goal then nicked an equaliser by capitalising on the poor defence. At the World Cup we were embarrassed in the group and it could easily have been the same here. Time to blow it up imho. The German plan in 2000 is often mentioned but i honestly don't know what they actually implemented to be honest so i'd be interested in learning a little more about that. Whoever we get to manage, they need to be on a normal international wage. £4.6M per year for Hodgson is a shambles given his track record for England in previous finals, in comparison to other international managers and in light of his general managerial track record. He's been a journey man. Journey men should not earn £80k per week. If you look at the odds checker list of possibles it does not make for pretty reading. Whoever comes in will have a hell of a lot to prove. I'd definitely tell the likes of Rooney, Cahill, Hart and a few of the older heads that it's time to retire as they'll not be selected. There's no long term benefit to the squad by having them in. Finally, England historically hand out to many caps to nothing players. I saw a comparison a couple of years ago that showed how many English players were one cap wonders and how many the Germans and Italians have. The result was frankly ridiculous. The Germans had literally a handful and no more. We had loads. We need to cut that out asap. Either you're good enough or you're not and giving someone a single game to prove it is stupid.
