I've seen comments elsewhere using the phrase, and I quote, "Maybe the thought of 80m parasites from Eastern Europe swayed their thinking!"

It hasn't occurred to them that this notion is literally the opposite of what voting Leave will do: skilled workers will be having second thoughts about coming to the UK because, from a free market standpoint, the incentive to come has dropped to the lowest it's been for thirty years - even though the mantra on immigration has been that skilled workers are welcome as they can benefit the country.

Considering how last month we had pro-Leave puppet Priti Patel saying that leaving the EU would see a mass influx of skilled chefs from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka all come over here to freely work in our curry houses, a claim that is almost as laughable as Boris' mantra of the £350m he and Michael Gove made up being spent on the NHS, the fact that anyone would believe this is worrying.

It would be scurrilous to suggest that Farage is playing the system to keep the money in the family, of course!...

As much as 'detests' Brussels, he's happy to take the money - tax free, of course.

Deport her, I say. Bloody foreigner!...

I agree that xenophobia was a factor. There is a peculiar kind of British xenophobia which I think afflicts a significant minority of white English people particularly. It's based on a sense of superiority and entitlement which dates back to the days of Empire, which is constantly promoted in the press. We need a reality check at times. For the chest beating and triumphalism, Britain's future will still be determined by foreigners - the US, China, Europe, in particular - it's just we will have less influence now.

It's bad enough the UK's present is dictated by an Australian-born US citizen...

The £350 mill p.w. Figure that the leave campaign continually bandied about was obvious bollocks, but the numbskulls believed what they wanted to believe.

I think it's probably immaterial, anyway. Pretty soon the UK economy will be so ****ed that nobody will want to go there!...

    Immigration problem solved!.....

Give it a few months and you can get that £350m when you hand over a €50 note at your nearest bureau de change.

<laugh> what really makes me laugh is she just doesn't know when to shut her mouth! As Lincoln or Twain said, 'better to,keep your mouth shut', etc....

She's a moron, but as she's a woman and of Indian extraction, I don't suppose I'm allowed to point that out!...

It's been pointed out quite often, so I think you're safe, NSIS.

She sums up a big problem with modern politics and politicians though, in my opinion.
Nothing that she says is ever based upon facts or evidence.
It's all down to what feels right to her or how she thinks thing should work.
Believing that the death penalty should act as a deterrent is fine, but the evidence shows us that this isn't the case.
It's all about spin and emotions now, rather than doing what works.

I'm not defending Boris or Farage. They should give every right minded person second thoughts! And I also agree that a lot of people voted leave for all the worst reasons. I voted leave because I believe we are better in the long run out of the EU, not because I hate immigrants. This is an opportunity to reinvigorate politics also.

Soundbites. Whatever she 'thinks' ( and I use the word advisedly) is what the voters want to hear. It's only when someone of Hislop's ilk pulls her up, that she's completely lost, and just blusters...

It's like the time when Boris tried grandstanding on Top Gear, and Jeremy Clarkson ran rings around him.

Let me repeat that: Boris Johnson, the "man" who people are talking about as future Prime Minister, was shown up on national television as being the intellectually inferior to Jeremy Clarkson

Message you're trying to send: Don't elect Boris.
Message people will receive: Clarkson for PM!

I respect your decision. I don't think everyone who voted to leave is a xenophobe - but I'm sure there are some who did vote that way who are.

Anyone else get the feeling that Boris was expecting to walk out of his house to rapturous applause?
