Why would we have a German bank campaigning for us to leave. All this is doing is allaying fears which the remain campaign have done a very ****ing good job of hammering home. We were always, always going to take a hit, nothing like a big recession, but a hit nonetheless... nobody has ever denied that, but folk, like you will obviously consider the smaller picture. Banks look after themselves and exist to make money. Any comment they make can only be read in that context. You have no idea whether this will be a big recession, an unmittigated disaster or all sunny and lovely. You also have no ****ing idea what size of picture I'm considering for me, my family and the country I live in. I doubt it.

You've said in an earlier post that "They could recover" conveniently becomes "They will recover" for the headlines which I basically see as you being a bit petty because you voted for the minority, It's not about making things look better for the headlines, It's about the future of the Country and the people in it that have voted to leave the EU. As has been mentioned earlier in the thread the out voters have said from the beginning that we understand that by voting out there would be immediate consequences such as the weakening of the currency, however most voters have realized that they're in for the long haul and this is a blip that we have to go through to reach a better end product.
Good, I hope it's a wash out and then when we rebuild the City, we can rehome the British people there and take our capital back
There will be a mild recession as far as I am concerned. The banks can mitigate anything worse and I suspect they will. Won't be pretty for anyone who earns a below average salary though! Life will become somewhat more unaffordable through these mechanisms.
This is the only shining light for me. Its good to see the next generation taking am interest. 18-25 apparently had a massive turmout. No matter which way they voted, its encouraging. The future.
The wealthy ruling elite have just been given a massive kick in the bollox. They have been told that their nice insular London enclave and the idea of rewarding the rich and austerity for everybody else has been well and truly sussed. The threats and blackmail didn`t work. The eu may make leaving hard work but not punitive. What are they going to say? No more VW`s, BMW`s or Mercedes for you? Sorry no more Renaults? Fiats are off the menu? Absolute tosh. It wouldn`t be in their own best interests and looking after their own best interests is something they do very very well. Another thing of course is that our own politicians will now be held solely responsible for running this country. They have nobody else to blame. Ey up mate!! Glad to see you engaged in this. I've always wished younger folk (this makes me feel old) would take an interest in politics. I hope this continues . I'll admit I'm disappointed by the result however I'm buoyed by the younger turnout! I guess the issue at hand is the weakening of our markets and currency can have overreaching implications for us. The markets hate instability and there is a real chance that we could enter into a serious recession. As I've said above, the banks can mitigate against it and lessen its impact, but there would be a real effect on poorer people. It can also weaken our position somewhat should we enter negotiations. The EU will want us out pretty sharpish. Hopefully within the two years, as allowed by the Lisbon treaty, we can sort something out that is good for the country. I'd hate for us to operate under WTO agreements and thusly be worse off. Anyway, it isn't even all about the economy. That's just what I know the most about .
