Apologies if this has been said before but I've just realised that had England have won the group they would have drawn Northern Ireland in the next round followed by Hungary or Belgium in the Quarter Final, followed by Switzerland, Poland, Croatia or Portugal. Probably the best possible chance of getting to the final of a major tournament in recent years. Instead, the route would be Iceland, then France or Ireland, then Spain, Italy, Germany or Slovakia. Stark contrast!
Still we'll probably loose on penalties to Iceland after they park the bus for 120 mins. I can see it now.. Wonder what the odds are? Is it bad karma to take a punt against your own team?
I thought Jonathan Pearce caught the mood very well last night. Haven't heard him so loud and excited since Robot Wars.
I wish he had stayed on Robot Wars. Drives me nuts shouting and screaming like he does. And as for his commentary on England Ladies where he is most definitely watching a different game than the "pass to the opposition" borefests that England ladies have served up recently (including the World Cup.)
Just back from Lille...I don't think last night can ever be topped...The amount of grown men crying was mental. Such passion!Bit the bullet and paid 550 euro to fly back for the quarters. Bring on the French!!
