So, the last 16 games are:

Switzerland v Poland
Croatia v Portugal
Wales v Northern Ireland
Hungary v Belgium
Germany v Slovakia
Italy v Spain
France v Ireland
England v Iceland

Quarter Finals...

Switzerland/Poland vs Croatia/Portugal

Wales/Northern Ireland vs Hungary/Belgium

Germany/Slovakia vs Italy/Spain

France/Ireland vs England/Iceland

What do we reckon?

So Turkey and Albania didn't make it, new system seems harsh despite it being fair. Turkey's 3-0 defeat to Spain has basically killed them.

Which I'd suggest is fair enough. They lost two games, failing to even score in either. You shouldn't really be rewarded for that.

I look at it the other way somewhat; Portugal are exceptionally lucky to not win a single game, but not get knocked out. Really they should be following Turkey home too.

Love how Republic have bumped Norn Ireland out of the worst possible slot and into the best.

Yeah, I agree, Portugal very lucky. I fancy Croatia to knock them out in the next round though.

Going to be really interesting with a supposed 'weak' and 'strong' side to the draw. Some pretty tasty ties in there and it only takes one slice of luck, a bad decision, or penalties to get anyone through. With that in mind: France, Germany, England, and Wales are the 4 that I'd have real confidence in progressing as all the rest are competitive enough. Well maybe Hungary v Belgium less so, but if I had to pick one favourite to get chinned in the next round it'd be Belgium here. I've been really impressed with Hungary's counter attacking and playing as a team to a set system a la Leicester. Belgium may well walk into the trap.
