Apart from the relatively specific proposal to implement something along the lines of the Australian points based system, to replace the system that Cameron et al admit doesn't achieve what they claimed it would.
Which could double immigration, hence the laughter in the audience.

Boris is a blustering fool. Even he doesn't believe the shallow nonsense he's spouting this evening.

It could half it too. The usual back up for the claims of an increase is that immigration has increased in Australia since the controls, but ignores the fact that that's what Australia decided it needed. The controls have meant that the economy has grown so they need more skilled people, and can encourage them in and screen out less desirable and less productive people that burden the rest of society.

It's certain that the current system doesn't work, and there's no firm word on how they propose to change it.

The Beeb interviewing people from both sides of the debate, and so far the only thing being discussed is immigration!

As if it's the only issue! It's not even the main one, or shouldn't be, Ffs!...

One of the people who had been selected to ask a question at the debate was just interviewed on the news.

Her big gripe was that as a small businesswoman she was shocked that 60% of UK legislation was set by Brussels. Obviously that's bullshit and, as was pointed out in the debate, parliamentary records show the actual figure to be 13%.

So her question and her place in the crowd were wasted as she wasn't even prepared to listen.

Nigel loves a deaf sheep.

You mean the dopey blond tart? She looked like her brain had got lodged over one of her eyeballs!...
