What a performance. Blew the Russians out of the water. Approach your future games like that and who knows where they might reach! Ramsey in a nice tribute to the Romania '98 team with the 'fro
With all due respect to Wales, Russia and slovakia, it is a scandal and a disgrace that hodgson and England couldn't win this group. Hodgson has to resign on Tuesday or be sacked on Wednesday. The odds are laughable. We have to be 20-1 to win the tournament. We are one of the outsiders. Wales have shown to be much better than us in international tournament football.
Unbeaten in our group, through to the next stage, outclassed all three opponents and beat Wales. You do talk utter bollocks. With all due respect.
And Hart made a save. It wasn't a great save or anything like it but he did stop the ball from going in the net, his first save in 6 tournament finals matches. All hail Joseph Hart, pride of Shropshire.
It's not a scandal Fusion or old Turkey necks fault;England just don't seem to turn up at the big tournaments, same old sh!t every time. I thought clyne done well but your not going to be going to far with Henderson and Wilshere pulling the strings in midfield. You could see Rooney trying to weave a bit of magic in the last five minutes but he has lost that spark that used to terrify defences.
Wales haven't been in a tournament for 50 years and we consider ourselves one of the favourites for the tournament? The FA expect minimum of a quarter final place? Expectations are way off reality. We won't get into the quarter finals.
I think we will. The likelihood of Hungary or Iceland isn't it in the next round. The further we go the better our chance will be as teams will not park the bus like the Slovaks did tonight. Wilshere won't start again and let's not forget how many players Woy "rested" tonight.
Pretty much sums it up Ste. Wilshere is lucky boy to even be there let alone starting. Henderson struck all the corners/free kicks like he hadn't taken his boots out of the box. There was some decent enough performances from a few including Clyne to suggest we could get a bit further but I don't consider us one of the favourites. The defensive unit would worry me especially when we come up against the better teams.
The glaring difference is that Wales are a team and England still seem a collection of players-to play like that on the back of a defeat was tremendous -haven't seen a better Welsh display -granted Russia were poor but they were against England -the Welsh team and fans can rightly celebrate tonight ......
The country (and particularly the press) just needs to get behind England for a change. They played some wonderful, breathtaking football last night which had the German commentator and analysts absolutely purring. Roy Hodgson is right in saying we should fear no one. Would we have been any more satisfied with the 0-0 of Germany against Poland or the 0-0 of France against Switzerland? No. This morning it is all about the 6 changes Hodgson made but that is bollocks. Kane and Sterling needed resting (the latter perhaps for a longer spell). The 2 Tottenham full-backs also deserved a rest but their replacements performed equally well. The only criticism would be the lack of guile in midfield where we saw Wilshire a yard of the pace and Henderson more sledge hammer than subtlety. The Slovakians parked the bus and their keeper had a blinder, England were unlucky not to win. Roy needs to restore his first choice midfield for the next match (Rooney, Dier, Alli) and perm any 3 from his attacking players up front (except Sterling).
And another thing - all this bollocks about "France and Spain looming in England's half of the draw" - yeah, ****, we'd be much better off in the half with Germany and Italy ****ing journalists getting on my tits, just in case no one noticed
Nice aside from Mario Götze when alluding to the criticism being heaped on Roy Hodgson (and Mario should know what he is talking about)......."That's football, one minute you're the dog, the next minute you're the tree"............ (This is not hindsight, thousands questioned the decision by Hodgson when he made it, but why oh why oh ****ing why did he chuck-out Drinkwater and retain Wilshere? So goddamn ridiculous).
Clearly we saw different England games. The one I saw featured just five shots on target despite three-quarters of the possession. Their goalkeeper hardly had to move to make a save. Henderson might be the next Gerrard: loved by the Scousers but wins virtually nothing. I should have switched over and watched the Taffs. The Russians were probably doped up. There will be no point watching the next England game until at least the 80th minute. Woy obviously took the Arsene Wenger coaching manual back to France – how to fail to break down a team that has parked the bus. Should have done the 5/1 England to be eliminated on penalties as it now looks like a certainty. Woy played the bench huggers against Slovakia because he did not want to win the Group but instead hopes to get Austria, Hungary or Iceland as they might be worse at penalties than our shower. Who will join the roll of honour with Stuart Pearce and Gareth Southgate by the end of this tournament?
They're not that bad, QMII, sometimes I think you'd sense a murder plot in a Kindergarten? Go make yourself a cup of tea (just tried Dorset tea for the first time, excellent!), put your feet up, and, "Keep The Faith"!
I never said that they were bad, but to win tournaments you need to score more goals than the opposition. Arsenal play technically good, attractive football but win virtually nothing. Currently, the top scorer in Euro 2016 is Welsh. Since England seem to be incapable of scoring before the last ten minutes, why waste time with the preceding eighty?
