One bidder has dropped out, the one headed by Adam Pearson. Chinese and US interest remains, with the US consortium wanting to wrap up the deal ASAP.

Two bidders remain in pursuit of Hull City takeover

HULL City now have just two prospective buyers vying for control of the club after one of the previously reported three consortiums withdrew. The sale of the Premier League side, which had looked close over a week ago with the preferred American consortium travelling to England and pushing hard to get a deal done, has seen little movement since.

Now, the Mail understands one of the bidders has withdrawn their interest completely following discussions with Hull vice chairman Ehab Allam. No details have been released and again due to confidentiality clauses in place no party is either free or willing to discuss the deal at present.

While that may be the case, the Mail understands the American consortium that includes investment banker Peter Grieve are still in negotiations and interested in completing a deal as soon as possible, with ex-City chairman Adam Pearson believed to have withdrawn his interest.

The Hull FC owner was not available for comment, but sources have suggested it is his group and not the American or Asian bidders who have ended their interest after having a number of offers knocked back.

The situation is becoming a cause of concern for many, with the lack of clarity over who will own the club and indeed who will be manager next season a source of some worry. Hull return to pre-season training two weeks today, with the future of manager Steve Bruce still uncertain.

I'd hope that buyers dropping out is actually a good thing, so long as there's one left in the end! Ehab not being able to up the price by playing them off each other will mean he'll have to bite the bullet and make a decision.

The HDM is usually decent with this sort of stuff.

It's only their rumour round up section that is stupid. Hint being in the name.

That often reads as "we know this for a fact, but we can't say that because the person who told us either shouldn't have or won't admit he did" This is one of those cases IMHO
I'm not sure whether it's good or bad
I suppose a positive could be that AP knows the Anericans are signing and wants to line himself up as a short term advisor to help the deal, negative would be that he just doesn't think they're going to sell

How's season ticket sales going ?!

In these sort of deals, potential buyers offer what they believe the club is worth - there is no guarantee that the highest bidder will eventually buy the club because sometimes they start trying to reduce their price after they have been invited to the table - its a bit of cat and mouse - others fall out because they are far apart from the owners aspirations of a sale price - these things are fluid - ultimately a deal is only completed if there is a willing buyer and a willing seller and the final deal is acceptable to both parties - I assume Adam wasn't prepared to pay any more than he had already bid and his bid wasn't as good as had been offered elsewhere - hopefully one of the remaining bids is sufficient to get the Allams to sell

Let's just hope that no news on the Grieve deal is good news and things are progressing.

Although, I've resigned myself to another turbulent season of fan alienation with Ehab in charge and not renewing my pass/membership/whatever the **** they're calling it this week.

Any news on the Premier League talks re membership scheme btw? I thought we'd have heard something by now.

Ehab stated that he wants the club to go to a 'good home', and Pearsons 2 Up and 2 Down doesn't compare with Greive's 'Mansion' in the USA?

Just putting it out there, but if Brucey has any aspirations of getting involved in club ownership, perhaps now is the time for him to step up to the plate? Umberside reporting Ehab met Brucey last Thursday? Until the ownership issue is resolved there's no point whatsoever in them meeting as i see it, what they have to discuss at present until the ownership issue is resolved would take 5 mins on the phone. Then again maybe Brucey simply wanted to meet up and resign?

So there's this mornings debate for you you to get your teeth stuck into....

I like the way SB is holding out for reassurances about finances being there.
"if we said NO, will you **** off now? allow us time to get a good manager in?"

Bruce is a manager, he'll have absolutely no desire to own a football club.

The Allams hate AP, they were never going to do a deal with him unless he was offering twice as much as everyone else.
